|TOTAL PREMIER LEAGUE EXPERIENCE|
There were a few players left out of the side for their away Europa League game in midweek, although Mamadou Sakho, Jordan Henderson and Glen Johnson are expected to be fit this weekend.
Philippe Coutinho (rested) and Lazar Markovic (suspended) are likely to be back in the XI after missing out in Turkey while Steven Gerrard is also expected back in the XI for the visit of the champions.
However, the Reds Lucas Leiva who will be sidelined for the next few weeks along with Jose Enrique, Brad Jones and Jon Flanagan.
Our chosen XI have played together eight times so far this season, winning four, drawing three and losing one as as well as keeping one clean sheet.
They also have plenty of Premier League experience, appearing in over 1,480 games with 200 goals and 194 assists during that period.
Speaking of goals, Daniel Sturridge could well be in the side this weekend although did play for just under two hours in midweek and could well feature on the bench.
If he is to feature, he will be looking to add to his three goals in all competitions with two of these coming in the Premier League this season.
However, it’s Steven Gerrard and Adam Lallana who are the highest scorers in the last 20 league games for Liverpool, both netting four times during the period.
Indeed, the Reds captain has netted four previous goals against Man City, three of which have come on home turf although his last Anfield goal in this fixture came in November 2006.
Raheem Sterling has also performed well in front of goal for the Reds this term, with six of his ten goals coming in the top flight so far this season including against Southampton last weekend..
Although they will face a strong Man City side, Liverpool have also been performing well in recent months and any of these players could well get their names on the score sheet on Sunday afternoon.
