Bad news Man Utd fans: Real Madrid superstar ‘will never play anywhere else or return to England’

By marshie IN Archive,General - 20:45 Sep 8th 2015

All three of Real Madrid’s attacking trio were subject to transfer rumours this summer, with Gareth Bale being constantly linked to a move to Manchester United after a turbulent second season at the Bernabeu.

However, like many of these rumours, it never quite came to fruition with the Welshman’s agent recently making any future deal seemingly dead in the water.

Jonathan Barnett has spoken of his client’s commitment to the Galacticos and how he’s unlikely to ever return to England, telling Sky Sports:

“Gareth is at the biggest club in the world and he’s going to be the biggest player in the world. I never discuss who has (been in touch) and what (was offered), but it has never been.

It is all stupid paper talk. He is very happy at Real Madrid and hopefully he will stay there for the rest of his career. Real Madrid have made it very clear that he is, or will be, their man player and that’s the way it’s going to stay.

The next few years are going to be very exciting for him. I don’t think he will play anywhere else, but you never know. Certainly I don’t think he will come back to England to play but you never know.

At the moment he is very happy. He wants to win the Ballon d’Or and with Real Madrid he has got a great chance.”

GARETH BALE

Bale began his career at Southampton before moving to Spurs in 2007, spending seven years at White Hart Lane before making the £85.5m to Real Madrid in 2013.

The Welshman has made a decent number of La Liga appearances in his two seasons at the Bernabeu, starting in 24 and 30 of his games respectively.

He’s also managed to make a double figured goal return in each campaign, helping the Galacticos to the La Liga and Champions League title in the 2013/14 term.

The forward has also managed a decent number of assists, amassing 21 in the league over the last two seasons with two goals and an assist already in the current campaign.

THOUGHTS

Despite getting some stick from the Spanish media, Bale has been performing fairly well for Real Madrid in the last two seasons although his record breaking price tag and performances from teammate Cristiano Ronaldo can be said to have played their part.

However, the Welshman seems happy at the Bernabeu and could well retire at the club, although saying he will never play in England again does seem a bit far fetched.

In terms of Manchester United, they could certainly do with a player of Bale’s calibre after a slow start to the season in front of goal but they would have to pull out the big chequebook if they were to lure him back to the Premier League.
