Arsenal Line Up vs Bournemouth – Team to help the Gunners bounce back

By KickOff IN Archive,General - 19:10 Dec 27th 2015

Arsenal fans didn't get the Christmas present they were hoping for as Southampton tore them apart on Boxing Day. The Gunners don't have to wait too long for their team to show some kind of reply however as they take on Bournemouth on Monday.

Here is the team most likely to play for Arsenal:

Arsene Wenger im sure would love to shuffle his pack a little but with an injury list so long, he has few options. Wilshere, Arteta, Coquelin, Sanchez, Welbeck, Rosicky and Cazorla all remain sidelined.

The Gunners back four of Monreal, Bellerin, Mertesacker and Koscielny had a torrid time vs the Saints but their longer term stats seem to indicate this was a blip rather than a trend. They have started together 26 times winning 19 (73%) , drawing 3 (12%) and losing just 4 (15%). In those games they conceded just 20 goals which includes the four against Southampton.

About the only change Arsene Wenger may choose to make is to give Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlin a chance to impress in place of Joel Campbell. The Costa Rican forward has been taken off before the 70th minute in the last three games in a row and would be the prime candidate to make way if Wenger wanted to make a change.

Olivier Giroud will start up front again and despite not scoring against Southampton he's still in really good form. The French striker has scored six goals in his last five appearances and a total of 15 across all competitions this season. He's also a prime candidate to open the scoring with seven of his 15 goals being the strike that broke the deadlock in the game.
