Liverpool plot move for enigmatic Premier League forward

By Mark Peters IN Archive,General - 20:10 Feb 7th 2016

Liverpool’s unsuccessful January pursuit of Alex Teixeira highlights the fact that Jürgen Klopp is not completely happy with his attacking options.

The Brazilian’s ability to play anywhere across the forward line certainly appealed to the Reds’ German boss, but he is now thought to have another target in mind.

MARKO ARNAUTOVIC

Marko Arnautovic gave Liverpool a scare when he scored against them at Anfield in the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-finals recently and the Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Austrian international will be available for as little as £12.5m in July.

Adam Lallana has not exactly set the world alight since signing for the Reds and it is the former Southampton man who would surely be in greatest danger of losing his place to the enigmatic 26-year-old:

Despite playing for a less fashionable club, Arnautovic has weighed in with eight top-flight goals and nine assists since the beginning of last season, taking 63 minutes fewer to find the net on average than his Liverpool counterpart.

Strong, technically-brilliant and prepared to put a shift in for the right manager, the Stoke forward has already scored more Premier League goals this term than he managed in the previous two campaigns combined:
