Dimitri Payet and Mesut Özil are both likely to be amongst the nominees for the PFA Player of the Year award. The talented pair will be sharing a pitch on Saturday lunchtime, but who has actually performed better during the current Premier League campaign?
DIMITRI PAYET V MESUT OZIL
Many players take time to adjust to the pace of English football, but that has certainly not been the case where Payet is concerned. The 29-year-old has become a talisman for West Ham, with his nine top-flight goals and eight assists helping them to mount a challenge for Champions League qualification:

When it comes to assists, Özil has no equals, with the Germany international serving up 18 in the Premier League so far this season. Five goals represents a disappointing return for the Arsenal man, however, with three of these strikes coming against newly-promoted sides.
If you asked the supporters of these two London clubs who they would rather have in their team, then I suspect that most would stick with the guy that they already have. Given the influence that he has had on his side, however, I would say that Payet should come closer to winning the PFA Player of the Year award.
