Leicester City make their first visit to Manchester United as Premier League champions, a mantle that the home side have enjoyed plenty of times down the years. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s late header gave the Red Devils the edge in August’s Community Shield, but what does history tell us about the possible outcome of this encounter?

MANCHESTER UNITED VS LEICESTER CITY – AT MANCHESTER UNITED

Leicester have a dreadful record at Old Trafford during the Premier League era, winning on just one of their ten visits. Things have been particularly bad recently, with last season’s draw ending a run of five consecutive top-flight losses for the Foxes at the Theatre of Dreams:

Although the men from the East Midlands have found the net on six of their ten trips to Manchester United since August 1992, they have made life difficult for themselves by conceding the first goal on eight occasions. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the Red Devils have gone on to win six and draw two of these matches.
