Can This XI Deliver Back-to-Back Wins? Arsenal Predicted Line-up v Crystal Palace

By timgarrett IN General,Lineup,Premier League - 12:35 Apr 10th 2017

Arsenal’s last Premier League fixture had a sense of ‘normal service resumed’ as they dispatched West Ham with ease, and the Gunners will be hoping for more of the same as they travel to Selhurst Park this evening.

They will be up against a Crystal Palace side that can still be considered as resurgent, despite suffering defeat last time out against Southampton. 12 points from the last 15 available is a strong record for anybody in the Premier League, never mind a side who were considered as strong candidates for relegation until recently.

With this in mind, it’s absolutely key that Arsene Wenger gets his starting line-up right. This is the XI we’re expecting him to go with this evening:

Laurent Koscielny’s continued absence from the side means that Gabriel and Shkodran Mustafi continue in the center of defense, and that may not be as much of an issue as it initially appears. The pair have started together 8 times this season, and Arsenal have come out on top in 7 of them.

Mohamed Elneny returned to the side last time out and performed well, meaning he is likely to keep his place. Arsenal have a 100% record when he has started with Granit Xhaka this season. 5 games. 5 wins.

Theo Walcott has scored in each of his last 2 Premier League outings, and looks set to continue in tandem with Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez. Arsenal average a goal every 45 minutes when these 3 are on the pitch together.

Overall, it’s a strong Arsenal XI with an excellent chance of taking all 3 points. With the top 4 still a realistic possibility, the smart money is on Wenger’s men to close the gap and increase the pressure on Manchester City.
