Will Koeman Or Conte Keep Debut Season On Track? Everton v Chelsea Ultimate Form Guide

By timgarrett IN General,Premier League,Ultimate Form Guide - 19:30 Apr 29th 2017

Having looked set to run away with the Premier League, Chelsea have now found themselves in a bona fide title race thanks to Spurs’ relentless form of late. Antonio Conte’s side still hold a 4-point gap at the top of the table, but cannot afford any slip ups as they head into a tricky away fixture with Everton.

Ronald Koeman’s side have been excellent at home this term, but Goodison Park has been a happy hunting ground for Chelsea in recent years. They have lost on only 1 of their last 6 Premier League visits and will be keen to extend that run on Sunday afternoon, but will they have enough to get the job done?

Our Ultimate Form Guide (above) suggests that Chelsea just have the edge in what looks like an incredibly tight affair, topping their hosts in 6 out of 15 key statistical areas to Everton’s 5.

Chelsea’s surge to the top of the Premier League was largely built on a solid defense, and as such their recent record at the back should be of concern. They have kept just 1 clean sheet in their last 10 and with 20% of shots on their goal finding the back of the net, there is a need for urgent improvement.

In attack, however it’s Chelsea who look the stronger side. They are scoring a strong 2.2 goals per game on average, and their 24% conversion rate remains outstanding. Everton are certainly no slouches in this regard, but they cannot keep up with Chelsea’s outstanding performance levels.

Overall, it is Chelsea who look marginally stronger and as such they should be confident of getting a result. Everton will certainly be no pushovers, but the smart money is on Conte’s side keeping their title bid on track with a huge 3 points.
