Chelsea plot shock move for Premier League superstar

By Mark Peters IN General,Premier League,Transfers - 19:45 Jul 17th 2017

Despite the successes of last season, it threatens to be a summer of change at Chelsea as Antonio Conte looks to build a team that can dominate at home and abroad for years to come.

Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic appear to be on their way out of Stamford Bridge, whilst Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko have been brought in to strengthen the spine of the side.

As of yet, no replacement has been found for the West London outfit’s Spanish striker, but reports in the Daily Star suggest that a shock move for Sergio Aguero could well be on the cards.

SERGIO AGUERO

For reasons known only to himself, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola does not seem to be the biggest fan of the diminutive Argentina international, thus paving the way for a potential move to the capital.

Although somewhat different in style to the Blues’ current centre-forward, the 29-year-old is a proven scorer at both Premier League and Champions League level, finding the net at a rate of a goal every 114 minutes for the Citizens across the two competitions:

Capable of scoring all different types of goals, eight of which have come against Chelsea during his time in England, Aguero has terrific movement and predatory instincts.

Perhaps the best illustration of just how effective the Argentinian can be is to compare his numbers with those put up by Costa since the powerful Spaniard moved to Stamford Bridge back in the summer of 2014:

Despite playing for a team that has won no titles to the Blues’ two during this period, the Manchester City striker has scored more goals at a faster rate, so the Premier League champions would be wise to snap him up if there was a possibility of doing so.
