Chelsea have not been slow to splash the cash so far this summer, spending big money on Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata, though some of that has been recouped with the sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United.
Antonio Conte has certainly been brave in making significant changes to a title-winning team and it is thought that the Italian is still on the lookout for several more fresh faces.
One of those could well be Danny Drinkwater if reports in the Daily Mail are to be believed, with the former Juventus and Italy boss keen to increase his options in the middle of the park.
Moving to Stamford Bridge would see the 27-year-old reunited with N’Golo Kante in midfield, a partner with whom he enjoyed tremendous success for Leicester back in 2015/16.
In reality, Bakayoko would probably get the nod alongside his fellow Frenchman if both he and Drinkwater were fit, but the England international’s history with the current PFA Player of the Year cannot be overlooked:

When paired with the Chelsea star during the Foxes’ unexpected title-winning season, Drinkwater was given greater licence to get forward, weighing in with an impressive haul of seven assists.
Although the former Manchester United trainee was unable to replicate that sort of form last time around, he still proved to be enormously valuable to the East Midlands outfit in what was a difficult domestic campaign:
|POS: MID||AGE: 27Y 4M|
|HEIGHT: 5FT 10IN||WEIGHT: 11ST 0LB|

In fact, Leicester won just one of the nine top-flight matches that the all-action midfielder missed, averaging 0.5 fewer points per game than they managed when he was involved.
