Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off sees two sides that know only too well the perils of acclimatising to a new stadium go head-to-head. Since leaving their respective traditional homes both Tottenham and West Ham have struggled for consistency, and as such are in desperate need of 3 points here to keep their season on track.
Mauricio Pochettino rolled in the changes in midweek as Spurs found a way past Barnsely in the League Cup, and whilst his second string turned in a solid performance, few appear to have done enough to put themselves in contention for a starting XI spot just yet. This is the side we expect Poch to go with this weekend:
The defensive trio of Davinson Sánchez, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld has already struck up a formidable looking partnership, with few other sides in the Premier League being able to boast such a wealth of talent at center back. Just 1 goals has been conceded in the 3 games they have started together thus far, and they’ll be hoping for another clean sheet here.
The midfield unit of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembélé has bags of experience at this level, having started 71 times together previously, whilst the flanks will be occupied by the less experienced but equally intriguing talents of Serge Aurier and Ben Davies.
In attack, Harry Kane really is the main man. He has 4 goals in his last 3 games and looks in top form after a quiet August, whilst the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen will provide ample support.
Overall, it’s a Spurs side that looks more than capable of taking all 3 points against West Ham, and one which is well worth backing. A Spurs win is available at 7/1 for new 888Sport customers, and looks like one of the bets of the weekend.
