Away victories in the Champions League are always sweet, but when they come courtesy of a last minute winner they become even sweeter. That was the story of Chelsea’s midweek trip to Atlético Madrid, where they well and truly proved that they’re back to their best and quashed any questions that may still be hanging around after their opening day defeat at home to Burnley.
Next up is a Manchester City side who may have taken the Premier League by storm so far this term, but who also suffered a couple of serious blows in recent days. Both Benjamin Mendy and Sergio Agüero appear to have been ruled out for considerable lengths of time for very different reasons, and it will be interesting to see how Pep Guardiola & co. bounce back from such frustration.
If Chelsea are to claim and all-important victory here, Antonio Conte’s team selection will have to be spot on. This is the XI we expect him to go with:

|TOTAL PREMIER LEAGUE EXPERIENCE|
David Luiz’s continued absence due to suspension means that Antonio Rüdiger retains a starting spot. He has impressed since arriving last summer, and any lack of Premier League experience will be counterbalanced by his partners Gary Cahill and César Azpilicueta, who have now started 101 games for Chelsea side-by-side.
Another summer signing who has settled well into Chelsea’s side is Tiémoué Bakayoko, who is already forming a formidable partnership with N'Golo Kanté. It’s 4 games and 4 wins so far for the pair, and they’ll be keen to extend that run here.
Eden Hazard will start a first Premier League game since May was absolutely electric in Madrid in midweek, and if he can repeat such levels it’s difficult to see anyone stopping him. Alongside Pedro and Álvaro Morata, it’s a deadly looking attack.
Overall, this is a Chelsea side that will be feeling justifiably confident of claiming victory in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful. Available at 40/1 for new Betfair customers, it’s hard to imagine a better bet this weekend.
