WATFORD v ARSENAL

After a supposedly catastrophic start to their Premier League campaign, Arsenal were able to stabilise themselves before the international break. 4 outings brought 4 clean sheets and 10 points to leave the Gunners 5th in the table, and they’ll be eager to push on once more as they head to Watford on Saturday evening.

Their hosts have been highly impressive under new manager Marco Silva, climbing to 8th spot and winning many admirers along the way. Their 6-0 defeat to Manchester City in their last home game, however, was something of a public execution.

Still, this will be anything but a straightforward outing for Arsenal, and therefore Arsene Wenger must get his team selection right. This is the XI we expect him to go with:

At the back, Shkodran Mustafi will miss out having been ruled out with injury up to six weeks, although both Sead Kolasinac and Laurent Koscielny appear to have proven that they’re fit enough to start. The pair has only started 3 Arsenal games together, but they’re yet to be on the losing side.

Question marks have previously been raised over the midfield partnership of Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey, but their record is actually better than some may expect. The pair has started 23 times for the Gunners previously, and have won 70% of those matches.

Alexis Sanchez didn’t return from international duty until late on Thursday, and looks set to be left on the bench. In his place, however, will be Danny Welbeck who makes a return from minor injury. With 3 goals in 5 Premier League appearances so far this term, the England international will be full of confidence and ready to go again.

Overall, this is an Arsenal side that looks incredibly strong and more than capable of claiming another all-important 3 points here. With odds of 20/1 available to new Betfair customers on an away win, it’s definitely the bet to be backing.
