Sturridge to Start? Liverpool’s Predicted XI v Maribor

By Joel Turner IN Champions League,General,Lineup - 12:00 Oct 17th 2017

Following a frustrating 0-0 draw against Man United in the Premier League on Saturday, Liverpool face a testing away game against Maribor this evening.

Little is known of their Slovenian opponents, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be keen to improve on his sides two draws to date in the Champions League group stages.

And while Klopp will no doubt be taking the task at hand seriously, he may well use the fixture as an opportunity to give some of his squad players a chance to start.

Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne remain out through injury, while Sadio Mane will miss six weeks of action.

Daniel Sturridge looks likely to get a chance in the side, as does Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – who is yet to make a real impression following his transfer from Arsenal.

Robert Firmino has had a dry spell in front of goal and will likely be the player to make way for Sturridge, while it’s likely Loris Karius will continue as European No.1 of choice for Liverpool.
