Debuchy to Start? Arsenal’s Predicted XI v Red Star Belgrade

By Joel Turner IN Europa League,General,Lineup - 12:10 Oct 19th 2017

Two wins from two in the Europa League so far means Arsenal shouldn’t struggle to make it out of the tournament’s group stages, but will likely face their sternest test to date against Red Star Belgrade.

In keeping with previous Europa League encounters this season, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is likely to heavily rotate his team selection and give opportunities to fringe players in the starting line-up.

Arsenal’s encouraging run of form came to an end following a defeat against Watford last weekend and they will be keen to get things back on a track – with a win providing a five-point buffer at the top of the group.

Belgrade have a strong home record, conceding just one goal this season, and currently, sit at the top of the Serbian Super Lig.

Take a look at our detailed statistical preview for the game here.

The Gunners are dealing with an extensive injury list that will also shape team selection this evening.

Arsenal will be without Shkodran Mustafi for around six weeks after the German suffered a thigh injury. Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey are expected to be fit for the Everton game this weekend, but won’t play any part this evening.

Danny Welbeck and Santi Cazorla have been joined by Callum Chambers in the Arsenal treatment room and won’t be involved.

Matthieu Debuchy could be in-line for his first start in 11 months after nearly leaving the club this summer.

Petr Cech will start in goal as David Ospina has not travelled to Serbia.
