Klopp Set To Shuffle The Pack: Liverpool’s Predicted Line-Up v Maribor

By timgarrett IN Champions League,Ultimate Form Guide - 18:00 Nov 1st 2017

The old adage goes that there are no easy matches in the Champions League, but when Liverpool visited Slovenia a fortnight ago that certainly didn’t seem to be the case. Jürgen Klopp’s side battered Maribor 7-0 on home turf, and surely left Darko Milanič’s side dreading their Anfield visit to come.

Tonight the two sides go head-to-head once more, and Liverpool must guard against complacency. Their passage into the last 16 is by no means guaranteed, with just 1 points separating themselves, Spartak Moscow and Sevilla at the top of Group E, so picking an XI capable of claiming all 3 points is vital. This is the side we expect Klopp to opt for:

Rotation does look set to be the order of the day, with a back 4 that has never started together previously appearing likely. Facing an attacking unit that has scored just once in 3 Champions League outings, however, that may not be such an issue.

Liverpool’s midfield looks set to be far more experienced, with old-head James Milner joining Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum in the center of the park. All 3 men started in Slovenia a fortnight ago, and will be hoping for a similar outcome here.

Daniel Sturridge bagged his 2nd goal of the season against Huddersfield last weekend, and he looks set to keep his place in the team here. He will be joined in attack by summer signings Mo Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, both of whom will be eager to impress once again.

Overall it’s a side that looks more than capable of claiming another comfortable victory over Maribor, and with huge odds of 16/1 available to new Betfair customers on the home win, they’re well worth backing.
