League Two has already provided us with plenty of thrills and spills this season, and with a full programme of fixtures in prospect this weekend, more of the same is sure to follow.
At the top Notts County, Accrington and Luton continue to set the pace, while the likes of Exeter and Swindon snap at their heels. Down at the bottom it’s Chesterfield who look in the most danger of the drop, with the likes of Morecambe and Port Vale also in need of an upturn in fortunes if they’re to avoid dropping out of the league all together.
So, ahead of the imminent action, we take a look at some of the most intriguing fixtures from across the league.
SWINDON v CHESTERFIELD View full match preview here
Promotion hopefuls Swindon host League Two’s bottom side on Saturday afternoon in a game that, on paper, looks like one-way traffic. Swindon’s home record has been chequered of later, however, and greater consistency is required if they’re to sustain their place at the top of the division. KickOff’s predictive algorithm gives 65% chance of starting such a run with victory here in the most decisive prediction of the weekend.
CRAWLEY v FOREST GREEN View full match preview here
Both of these sides have played their football in non-league in the not-too-distant past, and a run of positive results is required for both if they’re to avoid a repeat next season. A lack of goals has plagues both side’s campaigns thus far, with respective averages of just 0.75 and 1.0 goals per game, and the KickOff algorithm gives little chance of that changing here. Under 2.5 goals is at 57% and is surely one of the League Two bets of the weekend.
COVENTRY v MANSFIELD View full match preview here
Coventry’s demise over recent years has made for sad viewing even for the neutral, and few would begrudge them a good campaign this time round. They sit in 6th place currently, and with just 1 defeat in their last 6 home games are in decent form. Mansfield are this weekend’s visitors at the Ricoh Arena, and the KickOff algorithm gives the home side 56% of claiming victory. With odds of 2.05 available with Betfred, it looks a great bet.
CHELTENHAM v LUTON View full match preview here
Luton’s 9 game unbeaten run earlier in the season set them out as one of the teams to beat in League Two this year, but with their last 2 matches ending in a draw and a defeat they have rather stalled of late. A return to winning ways at Cheltenham this weekend would be gratefully welcomed, but with the KickOff algorithm giving them just a 35% of gaining victory they will be up against it. This is one of the tightest games of the weekend and definitely not one to be missed.
Overall, we look set for a fantastic weekend of entertainment in League Two and there’s only one place to make the most of it – KickOff.co.uk.
