Hazard To Lead The Blues Back To Winning Ways: Chelsea’s Predicted Line-Up v Huddersfield

By timgarrett IN Lineup,Premier League - 12:30 Dec 12th 2017

Frustrations mounted last weekend as Chelsea slipped to an away defeat to one of the Premier League’s current relegation candidates, and Antonio Conte’s men must ensure that they do not repeat that trick tonight.

Their opposition this time is a Huddersfield side that was on a 4 game losing streak prior to Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Brighton. Buoyed by confidence from that and fully aware that they have the ability to match the division’s best on home turf following visits from Manchester United and Manchester City, this promises to be anything but an easy 3 points for Chelsea.

With that in mind, it’s vital that Antonio Conte gets his team selection right. The fixtures may be coming thick and fast, but excessive rotation could be disastrous. This is the XI we expect the Italian to go with:

The defensive trio of César Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger has looked increasingly solid increasingly solid in recent weeks, and their absence in last weekend’s defeat was notable. They look set to return for a 5th start together of the season.

Chelsea have a 71% win percentage in the 24 matches Cesc Fàbregas and N'Golo Kanté have previously begun alongside one another, and Conte will once again rely on them to set the pace from the center of the park here.

Pedro, Eden Hazard and Álvaro Morata have contributed 21 goals and 14 assists between them this season, and will be trusted to break down Huddersfield’s resolute defense in what is bound to be a tricky night’s work for them.

Overall, it’s an incredibly strong Chelsea team and one that should have more than enough to find a way past their opposition. With odds of 25/1 available on the away win for new Betfair customers; there really is only one bet of the night.

This is backed up by KickOff’s all-new Acca Smacker (below), which uses our unique predictive algorithm to give the Blues a massive 60% chance of claiming victory.

When looking at the ‘Form Stats’ tab of the Acca Smacker, reasons to expect a Chelsea win become even clearer. Using 18 key data points, 9 attacking and 9 defensive, from the past 10 games for each side, KickOff compares the two sides and, in this case, Chelsea come out on top in every single one. When these results are so one-sided, the match very rarely goes the other way.
