Liverpool Make Their Move For Title-Winning Winger

Having reached the final of the Champions League last season playing an exciting brand of attacking football, much is expected of an improving Liverpool side in the 2018/19 campaign, both at home and abroad.

The signings of Naby Keita and Fabinho will only strengthen Jürgen Klopp’s hand further, but it seems that the charismatic German is not finished in the transfer market, with another pacy forward player next on his wish list.

According to the latest media reports, that man could well be Nigerian international winger Moses Simon, with the 22-year-old thought to be available for as little as £10m as he approaches the final year of his contract.

Denied a place in his country’s World Cup squad this summer as a result of a minor hip injury, the Gent player helped his club to a first ever Belgian title back in 2014/15, though his numbers last term were not particularly spectacular:

Finding the net once every 4.5 games in the top-flight, the 22-year-old hardly did enough to suggest that he is capable of walking straight into the starting XI at Anfield, though he would provide excellent cover for Sadio Mane.

Quick, tricky and capable of operating down either flank, Simon is young enough to develop into a real talent, though the Reds would be much better off prizing Ousmane Dembele away from Barcelona if at all possible:

Given how difficult that might prove, however, particularly if the Frenchman shines this summer in Russia, the Gent winger would represent a decent cut-price alternative who appears to be a good fit for Klopp’s style of play.
