Tottenham Hotspur Making Stunning Move For Barcelona Star

The future was already looking very promising for Tottenham, but Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane putting pen to paper on new five and six-year contracts respectively is incredibly positive news for the North London outfit.

Now that their two main men are secured, other key performers will no doubt follow suit in committing their long-term futures to the club, whilst the removal of any uncertainty should help when it comes to attracting top talent.

In terms of ability, Brazilian international Rafinha certainly falls into that category, and the latest media reports are suggesting that Spurs are ready to take advantage should Inter Milan fail to sign him permanently from Barcelona.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of the 2017/18 campaign on loan at the San Siro, impressing with his performances in an advanced midfield role, though the Italian giants seem unwilling to take up their option to buy him for an agreed price of €35m:

Although a return of just two goals and three assists in 1,048 minutes of top-flight football may not seem spectacular, the Barcelona loanee was on pace to outperform experienced winger Antonio Candreva over the course of an entire campaign.

Besides, were the 25-year-old to move to Tottenham, it is highly likely that Pochettino would deploy him in a deeper midfield role, enabling the technically-gifted footballer to dictate the tempo of his team’s play from a position next to Eric Dier:

As the son of 1994 World Cup winner Mazinho and the younger brother of Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, it is clear that Rafinha has plenty of footballing pedigree, whilst growing up at Barcelona should also have furnished him with a winning mentality.
