Chelsea Line Up £30m Move For One Of England’s World Cup Heroes

It has been an extremely quiet summer on the transfer front at Stamford Bridge, but things will start to change very quickly once the World Cup is over and club football returns to the top of the agenda again.

N’Golo Kante, Olivier Giroud, Willian, Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard, Michy Batshuayi, Gary Cahill and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all gone deep into the tournament as contracted Chelsea players, and uncertainty remains over at least one of their futures.

According to the latest media reports, the Blues’ Belgian custodian remains a serious target for Real Madrid and their new boss Julen Lopetegui, with the West London outfit eyeing England international Jack Butland as a potential £30m replacement.

Currently playing second fiddle to Jordan Pickford over in Russia, Stoke’s relegation means that the 25-year-old needs to secure a Premier League move, preferably to a big club, if he is to mount a serious challenge for his country’s no.1 jersey in the future.

Undoubtedly an immense talent, the former Birmingham keeper has conceded more top-flight goals than he would have liked during his time in the Potteries, though he has actually saved 2% more of the shots that he has faced than Courtois:

A vocal presence with the sort of character that could take him a long way in the game, Butland enjoyed his best Premier League season back in 2015/16, keeping a clean sheet every three matches and massively outperforming Chelsea’s no.1:

Although most supporters of the Blues would not want to lose their current goalkeeper, Real Madrid’s reported interest in a player whose contract has one year left to run means that it makes perfect sense to line up a replacement who would be desperate to impress.

It has been a number of years since the English public has had a national team to be truly proud of but, at the very least, they now have a captain behind whom the country can unite. Harry Kane’s 6 World Cup goals have made him a universal hero, and he’ll be looking for more as he takes on Sweden in the quarter-final.

Can Kane add to his tally and guide England to a first semi-final since 1990? If you think so, Coral have the perfect offer for you.
