Absent from the Champions League for the first time in 2o seasons, Arsenal must contend themselves with the Europa League as their European campaign gets underway against FC Koln at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger will be keen to use Europa League football to his advantage this season. Premier League teams have been in the final or won the competition across the past two seasons, and the Frenchman will be keen to emulate Man United’s success by winning his first European trophy with the Gunners.
FC Koln have little European pedigree but qualified for the tournament by virtue of a fifth placed Bundesliga finish last season. So far this season they’ve lost all their league games and will be desperate for some relief in the Europa League.
Arsenal have also endured a difficult start to the season, but secured a second Premier League win against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The KickOff algorithm gives Arsenal a 74% chance of winning the game and a 59% chance on three or more goals being scored (Over 2.5 goals).
