Liverpool will hope to exorcise a few demons when they welcome Sevilla to Anfield for the opening game of their Champions League.
They will aim to overcome the fresh memory of a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Man City last weekend, and the distant memory of defeat to opponents Sevilla in the 2015/16 Europa League Final.
After three consecutive Europa League titles Sevilla had didn’t claim any silverware last season, but did finish fourth in La Liga.
Despite their history, Liverpool are tipped to win the game by KickOff’ algorithm (57% probability), with a 61% chance of both teams scoring in the game.
Both sides have an eye for goal, and as a result there is a 62% chance the that the game ends in three or more goals being scored.
Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge are equally tipped (both with a 15% chance) to open the scoring for Liverpool.
