Serie A stats and tips

Sunday 10th May

A Mineiro v Botafogo - Both Teams To Score - yes

Botafogo fans have come to expect drama at each end when their team plays in Serie A, with both sides having scored in every one of their last 9 games. Atlético Mineiro on Sunday night should be another goal-fest.

Remo v Palmeiras - Double Chance - away win or draw

A. Moreira Ferreira and his Palmeiras side have found a convenient way of taking something from almost every Serie A game they play. They're unbeaten in 9 in Serie A now, so A. Ferreira and his Remo charges will need to be on top of their game if they're to stand any chance at Estádio Estadual Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença on Sunday.

Corinthians v Sao Paulo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring fixtures aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Corinthians have had plenty of opportunity to test that theory this season. 11 of their side's matches in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will H. Crespo and his Sao Paulo side be able to inject goalmouth action into this fixture on Sunday? Or will it be yet another low scoring affair?

Mirassol v Chapecoense - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It may not be an honour they're especially proud of, but Chapecoense currently lead all opposition in Serie A when it comes to matches drawn at both the break and the final whistle this season, with their tally now at 5 in 13 matches. They will put that unwanted consistency on the line against Mirassol at on Sunday, in a game that could see yet another tie.

Santos v Bragantino - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming clash between Santos and Bragantino might well be the one for you. J. Vojvoda's side have lost 5 games this campaign in which both sides have found the net. That's the most in Serie A.

Gremio v Flamengo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Gremio have been involved in some low-scoring matches in Serie A recently. There have been under 2.5 goals in each of L. Ribeiro de Castro's side's last 5 outings and, with F. Kasmirski and his Flamengo ahead on Sunday night, their forwards really should be putting in some additional practice in training this week.

Monday 11th May

Vasco d Gama v Athletico PR - Both Teams To Score - yes

Fans at Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da will be banking on action at both ends on Monday, and rightly so if Vasco da Gama's past record is to be continued. Both teams have found the net in 12 of their 14 Serie A fixtures this season, the largest number in the competition.

Saturday 16th May

A Mineiro v Mirassol - Both Teams To Score - no

If we trust the form book, we can back at least one club to keep a clean sheet at Estádio Raimundo Sampaio on Saturday, as J. Sampaoli Moya and R. Silva Guanaes's sides clash. Atlético Mineiro have had the highest number of games where one team or more has failed to score (i.e. BTTS no) in Serie A so far this campaign - 9 out of 14 played. Both managers will just be hoping it isn't their side that fails to register.

Internacional v Vasco d Gama - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Estádio José Pinheiro Borda may be fully expecting plenty goalmouth action on Saturday, and they're right to, if Vasco da Gama's past record is anything to go by. Both teams have found the net in 12 of their 14 Serie A matches this season, the largest number in the competition.

Sunday 17th May

Palmeiras v Cruzeiro - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

A. Bacchi won't be looking forward to the prospect of playing Palmeiras in Serie A on Sunday. A. Moreira Ferreira's side have been ahead at the break and gone on to claim victory at final whistle more often than any other team in the Serie A this term - 9 times in total. That stat suggests there's every chance of it being a demoralising morning for Cruzeiro, and that backing Palmeiras in the halftime fulltime market would be a smart move at odds of 2.60.

Santos v Cortiba - Double Chance - home win or draw

Coritiba have consistently struggled against Santos in the league in recent years. The two clubs have met on 8 occasions since 2020, and Santos have been unbeaten in them all. Sunday's game at Estádio Urbano Caldeira could be another hard one for M. Batista Junior & co.

Botafogo v Corinthians - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring fixtures aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Corinthians have had lots of chances to test that theory this campaign. 11 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will Davide Ancelotti and his Botafogo team be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this encounter on Sunday? Or will it be same old same old?

Chapecoense v Remo - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It might not be an honour they're all that proud of, but Chapecoense currently lead all opponents in Serie A when it comes to matches drawn at both the break and the final whistle this campaign, with their tally now at 5 in 13 matches. They will put that unwanted consistency to the test versus Remo at Arena Condá on Sunday, in a match that could see yet another stalemate.

Athletico PR v Flamengo - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Athletico PR will be looking to avoid adding to the 5 games they have already lost at both the break and the final whistle this term when they face Flamengo on Sunday. O. Hellmann's players already top the rest of Serie A in that department, and won't want to make their record any worse. Opposing boss F. Kasmirski will be licking his lips, however.
