Serie A stats and tips

Sunday 10th May

A Mineiro v Botafogo - Both Teams To Score - yes

Botafogo fans have been spoilt with drama at each end when their side plays in Serie A, with both sides having scored at least one goal in all of their last 9 outings. Atlético Mineiro on Sunday night may well be another thriller.

Remo v Palmeiras - Double Chance - away win or draw

Happy days! It has now been a long while since Palmeiras’s merry fans watched their lads get beaten in Serie A. A. Moreira Ferreira’s boys are now unbeaten in 9 games, and he will be hopeful that they can keep going against Remo at Estádio Estadual Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença on Sunday night. Best value odds of 1.20 can be grabbed to back Palmeiras to avoid defeat yet again.

Corinthians v Sao Paulo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring matches aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Corinthians have had lots of chances to test that theory this season. 11 of their side's matches in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will H. Crespo and his Sao Paulo team be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this fixture on Sunday? Or will it be more of the same?

Mirassol v Chapecoense - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It might not be an honour they're all that proud of, but Chapecoense currently lead all opposition in Serie A when it comes to fixtures drawn at both the break and the final whistle this season, with their tally now at 5 in 13 matches. They will put that unwanted consistency on the line versus Mirassol at on Sunday, in a match that could see yet another dead heat.

Santos v Bragantino - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like tipping goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming match between Santos and Bragantino might well warrant a closer look. J. Vojvoda's side have lost 5 games this campaign in which both teams have got on the scoresheet. That's the highest number in Serie A.

Gremio v Flamengo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Gremio have been involved in some low-scoring matches in Serie A recently. There have been under 2.5 goals in all of L. Ribeiro de Castro's side's last 5 outings and, with F. Kasmirski and his Flamengo ahead on Sunday night, their forwards may well need to put in some more practice in training this week.

Monday 11th May

Vasco d Gama v Athletico PR - Both Teams To Score - yes

Fans at Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da may be anticipating goals galore on Monday, and rightly so if Vasco da Gama's recent record is anything to go by. Both teams have scored in 12 of their 14 Serie A fixtures this season, the largest number in the competition.

Saturday 16th May

A Mineiro v Mirassol - Both Teams To Score - no

Going on form alone, we can back at least one club to earn a clean sheet at Estádio Raimundo Sampaio on Saturday, as J. Sampaoli Moya and R. Silva Guanaes's teams meet. Atlético Mineiro have had the highest number of games where one team or more has failed to find the back of the net (i.e. BTTS no) in Serie A so far this season - 9 out of 14 played. Both bosses will just be hoping it isn't their them that flounders in front of goal.

Internacional v Vasco d Gama - Both Teams To Score - yes

Fans at Estádio José Pinheiro Borda may be anticipating action at both ends on Saturday, and rightly so if Vasco da Gama's recent record is anything to go by. There have been a goal in both nets in 12 of their 14 Serie A matches this season, a record matched by no other team in the competition.

Sunday 17th May

Palmeiras v Cruzeiro - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

A. Bacchi won't be too excited about going up against Palmeiras in Serie A on Sunday. A. Moreira Ferreira's side have been winning at the break and gone on to claim victory at FT more frequently than any other club in the Serie A this term - 9 times in total. That stat suggests there's every chance of it being a tough morning for Cruzeiro, and that backing Palmeiras in the HT FT market would be a great shout at odds of 2.60.

Santos v Cortiba - Double Chance - home win or draw

Coritiba have consistently struggled against Santos in the league in recent years. The two sides have clashed on 8 occasions since 2020, and Santos have been unbeaten in them all. Sunday's game at Estádio Urbano Caldeira could be a tricky one for M. Batista Junior & co.

Botafogo v Corinthians - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring encounters aren't always boring, but fans of Corinthians have had too many chances to test that theory this term. 11 of their side's fixtures in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will Davide Ancelotti and his Botafogo side be able to inject goalmouth action into this fixture on Sunday? Or will it be more of the same?

Chapecoense v Remo - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It may not be an honour they're especially enamoured with, but Chapecoense currently lead all opposition in Serie A when it comes to games drawn at both the break and the final whistle this term, with their tally now at 5 in 13 matches. They will put that somewhat unwelcome consistency to the test versus Remo at Arena Condá on Sunday, in a match that could see yet another dead heat.

Athletico PR v Flamengo - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Athletico PR will be looking to avoid adding to the 5 games they have already been behind in at both the break and the final whistle this season when they square off against Flamengo on Sunday. O. Hellmann's side already lead the rest of Serie A in that category, and won't want to make their record any worse. Opposing boss F. Kasmirski , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.
