Serie A stats and tips

Monday 4th May

Mirassol v Corinthians - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring matches aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Corinthians have had lots of chances to test that theory this term. 11 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will R. Silva Guanaes and his Mirassol team be capable of adding some spice into this match on Monday? Or will it be more of the same?

Sunday 10th May

A Mineiro v Botafogo - Both Teams To Score - yes

Botafogo fans have come to expect action at each end when their team plays in Serie A, with both sides having scored in every one of their last 9 matches. Atlético Mineiro on Sunday night should be another ding-dong battle.

Remo v Palmeiras - Double Chance - away win or draw

A satisfyingly long time has passed since Palmeiras’s happy supporters watched their team lose in Serie A. A. Moreira Ferreira’s boys are now unbeaten in 9 outings, and he'll be full of belief that they can keep going against Remo at Estádio Estadual Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença on Sunday night. Top odds of 1.18 can be grabbed to back Palmeiras the double chance market.

Corinthians v Sao Paulo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring matches aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Corinthians have had lots of chances to test that theory this campaign. 11 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will H. Crespo and his Sao Paulo team be able to inject spice into this fixture on Sunday? Or will it be yet another low scoring affair?

Mirassol v Chapecoense - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It might not be an honour they're particularly proud of, but Chapecoense currently lead all other teams in Serie A when it comes to matches in which they have been level at both HT and FT this season, with their tally now at 5 in 13 games. They will put that unwanted consistency on the line versus Mirassol at on Sunday, in a match that could see yet another dead heat.

Santos v Bragantino - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and picking a winner, then the upcoming fixture between Santos and Bragantino might well be the one for you. J. Vojvoda's side have lost 5 games this season in which both teams have found the net. That's the most in Serie A.

Gremio v Flamengo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Gremio have played out some low-scoring games in Serie A of late. There have been under 2.5 goals in all of L. Ribeiro de Castro's side's last 5 outings and, with F. Kasmirski and his Flamengo ahead on Sunday night, their strikers may well need to put in some more practice on the training ground.

Monday 11th May

Vasco d Gama v Athletico PR - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da will be fully expecting plenty goalmouth action on Monday, and they're right to, if Vasco da Gama's past record is anything to go by. We've seen BTTS in 12 of their 14 Serie A fixtures this season, a record matched by no other team in the competition.

Saturday 16th May

A Mineiro v Mirassol - Both Teams To Score - no

Going on form alone, we can expect at least one goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at Estádio Raimundo Sampaio on Saturday, as J. Sampaoli Moya and R. Silva Guanaes's teams meet. Atlético Mineiro have had the highest number of matches where one team or more has not found the net (i.e. BTTS no) in Serie A so far this season - 9 out of 14 played. Both bosses will just be desperate that it isn't their side that flounders in front of goal.

Internacional v Vasco d Gama - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Estádio José Pinheiro Borda will be anticipating goals galore on Saturday, and rightly so if Vasco da Gama's recent record is to be continued. Both teams have scored in 12 of their 14 Serie A matches this season, more than any side in the competition.

Sunday 17th May

Palmeiras v Cruzeiro - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

A. Bacchi won't be looking forward to facing Palmeiras in Serie A on Sunday. A. Moreira Ferreira's side have led at the break and gone on to win at fulltime more frequently than any other club in the Serie A this season - 9 times in total. That record suggests it may be a tough morning for Cruzeiro, and that backing Palmeiras in the halftime fulltime market would be a great shout at odds of 2.60.

Santos v Cortiba - Double Chance - home win or draw

Coritiba have consistently struggled against Santos in the league in recent years. The two clubs have played on 8 occasions since 2020, and Santos have gone unbeaten in them all. Sunday's game at Estádio Urbano Caldeira could be a tricky one for M. Batista Junior & co.

Botafogo v Corinthians - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring games aren't always boring, but fans of Corinthians have had too many chances to test that theory this season. 11 of their side's fixtures in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will Davide Ancelotti and his Botafogo side be able to inject spice into this match on Sunday? Or will it be more of the same?

Chapecoense v Remo - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It may not be an honour they're all that proud of, but Chapecoense currently lead all other teams in Serie A when it comes to fixtures where they've been drawing at both halftime and fulltime this term, with their tally now at 5 in 13 matches. They will put that somewhat unwelcome consistency on the line versus Remo at Arena Condá on Sunday, in a clash that could see yet another dead heat.

Athletico PR v Flamengo - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Athletico PR will be hoping not to add to the 5 times they have already lost at both the break and the final whistle this season when they play Flamengo on Sunday. O. Hellmann's team already top the rest of Serie A in that department, and won't want to make it any worse. Opposing boss F. Kasmirski , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.
