Serie A stats and tips

Sunday 10th May

A Mineiro v Botafogo - Both Teams To Score - yes

Botafogo fans have come to expect drama at each end when their side plays in Serie A, with both teams having found the net in all of their last 9 outings. Atlético Mineiro on Sunday night should be another goal-fest.

Remo v Palmeiras - Double Chance - away win or draw

A. Moreira Ferreira and his Palmeiras team have gained a handy way of claiming something from just about every Serie A match they play. They're unbeaten in 9 in Serie A now, so A. Ferreira and his Remo side will have to be at their best if they're to get the win at Estádio Estadual Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença on Sunday.

Corinthians v Sao Paulo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring encounters aren't always boring, but fans of Corinthians have had plenty of opportunity to test that theory this term. 11 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will H. Crespo and his Sao Paulo team be able to inject goals into this clash on Sunday? Or will it be same old same old?

Mirassol v Chapecoense - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It may not be an honour they're especially proud of, but Chapecoense currently lead all other teams in Serie A when it comes to matches where they've been drawing at both halftime and fulltime this campaign, with their tally now at 5 in 13 outings. They will put that somewhat unwelcome consistency on the line versus Mirassol at on Sunday, in a game that could see yet another tie.

Santos v Bragantino - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like tipping goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming clash between Santos and Bragantino could warrant a closer look. J. Vojvoda's side have lost 5 games this term in which both sides have found the net. That's a record in Serie A.

Gremio v Flamengo - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Gremio have taken part in some low-scoring outings in Serie A recently. There have been under 2.5 goals in all of L. Ribeiro de Castro's side's last 5 outings and, with F. Kasmirski and his Flamengo ahead on Sunday night, their forwards would be well advised to put in some additional work on the training ground.

Monday 11th May

Vasco d Gama v Athletico PR - Both Teams To Score - yes

Fans at Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da may be anticipating goals galore on Monday, and rightly so if Vasco da Gama's past record is anything to go by. Both teams have found the net in 12 of their 14 Serie A fixtures this season, more than any side in the competition.

Saturday 16th May

A Mineiro v Mirassol - Both Teams To Score - no

If we trust the form book, we can predict at least one set of players to keep a clean sheet at Estádio Raimundo Sampaio on Saturday, as J. Sampaoli Moya and R. Silva Guanaes's sides clash. Atlético Mineiro have had the highest number of fixtures where one team or more has not scored (i.e. BTTS no) in Serie A so far this term - 9 out of 14 played. Both managers will just be praying it isn't their team that flounders in front of goal.

Internacional v Vasco d Gama - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Estádio José Pinheiro Borda may be banking on plenty goalmouth action on Saturday, and with good reason if Vasco da Gama's past record is to be continued. There have been a goal in both nets in 12 of their 14 Serie A fixtures this season, more than any side in the competition.

Sunday 17th May

Palmeiras v Cruzeiro - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

A. Bacchi won't be looking forward to going up against Palmeiras in Serie A on Sunday. A. Moreira Ferreira's side have been winning at the break and gone on to secure the win at FT more often than any other team in the Serie A this term - 9 times in total. That stat suggests there's every chance of it being a difficult morning for Cruzeiro, and that backing Palmeiras in the halftime fulltime market would be a smart move at odds of 2.60.

Santos v Cortiba - Double Chance - home win or draw

Coritiba have found something of a bogey team in Santos in the league in recent years. The two clubs have clashed on 8 occasions since 2020, and Santos have gone unbeaten in them all. Sunday's game at Estádio Urbano Caldeira could be a tricky one for M. Batista Junior & co.

Botafogo v Corinthians - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring fixtures aren't always boring, but fans of Corinthians have had lots of chances to test that theory this campaign. 11 of their side's matches in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will Davide Ancelotti and his Botafogo side be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this fixture on Sunday? Or will it be yet another low scoring affair?

Chapecoense v Remo - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It might not be a record they're all that enamoured with, but Chapecoense currently lead all other teams in Serie A when it comes to fixtures in which they have been level at both the break and the final whistle this season, with their tally now at 5 in 13 outings. They will put that somewhat unwelcome consistency on the line versus Remo at Arena Condá on Sunday, in a match that could see yet another tie.

Athletico PR v Flamengo - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Athletico PR will be looking to avoid adding to the 5 times they have already been behind in at both halftime and fulltime this campaign when they face Flamengo on Sunday. O. Hellmann's side already lead the rest of Serie A in that category, and won't want to make the situation any worse. Opposing boss F. Kasmirski , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.
