Serie A stats and tips

Sunday 29th March

Athletico PR v Botafogo - Over / Under 0.5 Goals - under

Fans heading to Arena de Baixada this Sunday to watch Athletico PR and Botafogo might already be fearing a tedious night, and rightly so. O. Hellmann's charges have been involved in 0 nil-nils this campaign, the highest number of any team in Serie A. Will anybody score? Bet against it at best odds of 8.50.

Wednesday 1st April

Botafogo v Mirassol - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and picking a victor, then the upcoming match between Botafogo and Mirassol could warrant a closer look. Davide Ancelotti's side have lost 2 games this season in which both teams have found the net. That's a record in Serie A.

Internacional v Sao Paulo - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Internacional will be looking to avoid adding to the 3 times they have already been behind in at both halftime and fulltime this campaign when they square off against Sao Paulo on Wednesday. A. da Silva Braga's side already top the rest of Serie A in that area, and won't want to make it any worse. Opposing boss H. Crespo will be licking his lips, however.

Thursday 2nd April

Cortiba v Vasco d Gama - Both Teams To Score - no

If the form book is to be believed, we can expect at least one side to keep a clean sheet at Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pere on Thursday, as M. Batista Junior and F. Diniz Silva's sides clash. Coritiba have had the most fixtures where one team or more has failed to score (i.e. BTTS no) in Serie A so far this term - 6 out of 8 played. Both managers will just be praying it isn't their team that flounders in front of goal.

Fluminense v Corinthians - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring fixtures aren't always boring, but fans of Corinthians have had lots of chances to test that theory this season. 7 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will L. Zubeldía and his Fluminense side be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this encounter on Thursday? Or will it be same old same old?

Chapecoense v A Mineiro - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

Atlético Mineiro will be hoping not to add to the 3 matches they have already lost at both halftime and fulltime this season when they face Chapecoense on Thursday. J. Sampaoli Moya's side already top the rest of Serie A in that department, and won't want to make it any worse. Opposing boss G. Dal Pozzo may not feel the same way, however.

Santos v Remo - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Estádio Urbano Caldeira may be fully expecting goals galore on Thursday, and with good reason if Santos's past record is anything to go by. There have been a goal in both nets in 7 of their 8 Serie A matches this season, a record matched by no other team in the competition.

Friday 3rd April

Bragantino v Flamengo - Double Chance - away win or draw

Bragantino simply have not been able to find a way past Flamengo in the Serie A in recent years. The two sides have played on 5 occasions since 2023, and Flamengo have remained unbeaten in them all. Friday's game at Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid could be a really difficult one for V. Carmo Mancini & co.

Palmeiras v Gremio - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - over

If you're not busy on Friday morning, then the clash between Palmeiras and Gremio could be the one for you. A. Moreira Ferreira's team lead Serie A in most matches with over 2.5 goals so far this season. 6 of their Serie A games have already gone that way. With form like that, surely only a parking of the bus from L. Ribeiro de Castro's men could keep the score down.

Saturday 4th April

Sao Paulo v Cruzeiro - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro have laboured through a number of cagey affairs in recent years. With each of their last 10 Serie A meetings having under 2.5 goals, the attackers picked by H. Crespo and A. Bacchi may be in for a long day night.

Sunday 5th April

Cortiba v Fluminense - Both Teams To Score - no

If we trust the form book, we can expect at least one set of players to earn a clean sheet at Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pere on Sunday, as M. Batista Junior and L. Zubeldía's teams meet. Coritiba have had the most fixtures where one team or more has failed to find the back of the net (i.e. BTTS no) in Serie A so far this season - 6 out of 8 played. Both managers will just be desperate that it isn't their side that draws a blank.

Chapecoense v Vitoria - Both Teams To Score & Result - draw

Arena Condá is the backdrop as Chapecoense and Vitória clash on Sunday night, in what could well be a real crowd-pleaser. G. Dal Pozzo's side have the most score draws of any side in the division - 3 in 7 games. An extension of that record has best odds of 4.50.

A Mineiro v Athletico PR - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Atlético Mineiro will be looking to avoid adding to the 3 games they have already been losing at both halftime and fulltime this season when they square off against Athletico PR on Sunday. J. Sampaoli Moya's players already lead the rest of Serie A in that department, and won't want to make it any worse. Opposing boss O. Hellmann , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.

Flamengo v Santos - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Estadio Jornalista Mário Filho may be banking on plenty goalmouth action on Sunday, and rightly so if Santos's recent record is anything to go by. We've seen BTTS in 7 of their 8 Serie A matches this season, a record matched by no other team in the competition.

Bahia v Palmeiras - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - over

If you're looking for some proper entertainment on Sunday night, then the clash between Palmeiras and Bahia could be one to watch. A. Moreira Ferreira's team lead Serie A in most matches with at least 3 goals scored so far this season. 6 of their Serie A games have already gone that way. With form like that, surely only a parking of the bus from R. Mücke Ceni's men could ruin the spectacle.

Corinthians v Internacional - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring fixtures aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Corinthians have had plenty of opportunity to test that theory this campaign. 7 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will A. da Silva Braga and his Internacional team be capable of adding some spice into this match on Sunday? Or will it be same old same old?

Monday 6th April

Mirassol v Bragantino - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring encounters aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Bragantino have had lots of chances to test that theory this campaign. 6 of their side's encounters in Serie A have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will R. Silva Guanaes and his Mirassol team be able to inject spice into this match on Monday? Or will it be same old same old?
