Officially known as the Spor Toto Süper Lig, the competition takes place between August and the following May, with each team playing 34 matches per season. Only six teams have ever won the Süper Lig with dominant clubs including Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor  - who have won the title a combined 59 times.
