Who are the teams to target in the BTTS market in the major European leagues?

By Editor - Aug 5th 2026

Heading into the 2026/27 campaign, England, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Czechia and Turkiye play host to the ten strongest leagues in Europe based upon the UEFA association rankings.

Although there are many differences between these domestic competitions, some slight (e.g. number of participating teams) and some vast (e.g. money spent on wages), they are all operating under roughly the same rules.

To this end, we thought it would be interesting to compare and contrast them in a particular area, focusing on the both teams to score market in the 2025/26 regular season:

PERCENTAGE OF ‘BTTS – YES’ MATCHES IN 2025/26
LEAGUE PERCENTAGE
Eredivisie (NED) 62.75%
Bundesliga (GER) 61.76%
La Liga (ESP) 56.58%
Premier League (ENG) 56.05%
Super Lig (TUR) 54.58%
Jupiler Pro League (BEL) 53.75%
Ligue 1 (FRA) 50.33%
First League (CZE) 49.58%
Primeira Liga (POR) 48.04%
Serie A (ITA) 45.26%

As you can see, the percentage of matches in which both teams scored came in at over 50% in seven of these ten leagues. Could this be yet another sign that the art of defending is dying out or is it more a reflection of recent rule changes being brought in to make the game more exciting?

Whatever the reasons behind this, it is interesting to note that Serie A is still living up to its reputation for keeping things tight at the back, with the net bulging at both ends in a staggering 17.49% fewer matches than was the case in the Eredivisie.

TEAMS TO TARGET IN THE BTTS MARKET BY LEAGUE

When it comes to btts tips, you can usually find sides that are consistently involved in such matches irrespective of which league they are operating in. Here, then, is a quick breakdown of the teams to target for both teams to score predictions in each domestic competition:

EREDIVISIE

A staggering eight of the 18 participating clubs featured in at least 12 home games in which the net bulged at both ends. Champions PSV Eindhoven and, somewhat more surprisingly, Fortuna Sittard led the way with 14 apiece, whilst AZ Alkmaar (13), Feyenoord (13), Heerenveen (13), NEC Nijmegen (13), relegated Volendam (13) and Telstar (12) were hot on their heels.

BUNDESLIGA

When you think of Bundesliga grounds in which you expect to be entertained, the RheinEnergieSTADION in Koln and the Europa-Park Stadion in Freiburg are not generally your first ports of call. That needs to change from now on, however, as 29 of their combined 34 home matches produced goals at both ends.

LA LIGA

In La Liga, Real Sociedad, Alaves and Osasuna are the teams to target when it comes to both teams to score tips. In fact, 15, 14 and 14, respectively, of their top-flight home games during the 2025/26 campaign saw no clean sheets being kept.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Things just weren’t quite right at Newcastle last season, but that didn’t prevent the Magpies from entertaining the St. James’ Park crowd. In fact, only four of their 19 Premier League home games failed to produce goals at both ends.

SUPER LIG

It would be fair to say that the Super Lig has a reputation for thrilling and, at times, chaotic football. It would seem that this largely stems from the inability of the big teams to keep clean sheets on their own patch, with Galatasaray (6), Fenerbahce (4), Trabzonspor (5) and Besiktas (4) all struggling on this front. Consequently, these sides are all worth considering in the btts and win market.

JUPILER PRO LEAGUE

Club Brugge are usually the side making the headlines in the Jupiler Pro League, but it is their fellow occupants of the Jan Breydel Stadium, Cercle Brugge, who lead the way when it comes to btts betting, with 12 of their 15 home matches during the 2025/26 regular season serving up goals at both ends.

LIGUE 1

Two teams stand out for btts predictions in Ligue 1, with both Lorient and Rennes featuring in 12 such home games out of 17 last season. Marseille (11), Le Havre (10) and Monaco (10) were the only other sides to reach double figures for matches of this type.

FIRST LEAGUE

Over the course of their 15 regular-season home games in the First League, Sparta Praha featured in 12 contests featuring goals at both ends, eight of which they won. Pardubice (11) and Mlada Boleslav (10) were not far behind, with the former securing five 1-1 draws in the correct score market.

PRIMEIRA LIGA

For once, Estoril get to top the standings in the Primeira Liga, albeit just for featuring in the most home games (12) in which the net bulged at both ends. At the other end of the scale, champions Porto kept 12 clean sheets on their own patch in the top-flight last season, winning 11 of these encounters, so any win to nil predictions would be wise to consider them.

SERIE A

Just six of the 20 teams playing their football in the Italian top-flight last season were involved in more home games containing goals at both ends than not. Chief amongst their number were Fiorentina and Torino, both of whom managed 12 such encounters, with nine of these taking place against top-ten finishers in the case of La Viola.

SUMMARY

Of course, one swallow doesn’t make a summer, but it is certainly interesting to note the radical differences between Europe’s top domestic leagues. Based upon the figures for the 2025/26 campaign, focusing on the Dutch and German top-flights and avoiding their Italian counterpart would certainly appear to be a sensible strategy when it comes to btts betting.

Another tip would be to focus on big clubs who are prone to conceding at home, as this is rarely reflected in the btts odds. PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Marseille, Monaco and Sparta Praha all fell into this category last term.
