Ligue 1 stats and tips

Wednesday 26th January

Angers v St Etienne, 18:00

Bad form can be tough to shift, but that's what's required of St Etienne boss Pascal Dupraz on Wednesday. His side face Angers having been beaten in each of their last 7 Ligue 1 games.

Friday 4th February

Marseille v Angers, 20:00

Marseille have played out some low-scoring matches in Ligue 1 recently. There have been under 2.5 goals in each of Jorge Sampaoli's side's last 5 outings and, with Gerald Baticle and his Angers ahead on Friday night, their attackers may well need to put in some additional graft in training this week

Saturday 5th February

Monaco v Lyon, 20:00

Lyon have been involved in some low-scoring matches in Ligue 1 in recent weeks. There have been under 2.5 goals in each of Peter Bosz's side's last 5 outings and, with Philippe Clement and his Monaco ahead on Saturday night, their strikers may well need to put in some additional work on the training ground

Sunday 6th February

Lorient v Lens, 12:00

It has been a dismal set of results for Lorient and their supporters, with their last Ligue 1 win now coming 15 matches ago. Boss Christophe Pelissier has to find a solution, and sooner rather than later. Will Lens at Stade du Moustoir on Sunday come too soon, or be a turning point?

Strasbourg v Nantes, 14:00

0-0s have been a highly uncommon occurrence in Strasbourg's Ligue 1 outings recently. Their last 34 have had over 0.5 goals, and Sunday afternoon's clash with Antoine Kombouare's Nantes really should deliver more of the same.

Troyes v Metz, 14:00

Bore-draws have been a highly uncommon occurrence in Troyes's league outings recently. Their last 41 have had over 0.5 goals, and Sunday afternoon's clash with Frederic Antonetti's Metz really should be a similar story.

Nice v Clermont, 14:00

Few will have missed the impressive form of Nice in recent weeks. They've won 5 consecutive Ligue 1 outings, and Christophe Galtier will be desperate to keep that run going as they come up against Clermont Foot at Allianz Riviera on Sunday afternoon.

Reims v Bordeaux, 14:00

Bore-draws have been an incredibly rare occurrence in Bordeaux's Ligue 1 outings recently. Their last 35 have had over 0.5 goals, and Sunday afternoon's meeting with Oscar Garcia's Reims really should deliver more of the same.

Rennes v Brest, 16:00

Nil-nils have been an almost unheard of occurrence in Rennes's Ligue 1 outings recently. Their last 37 have had over 0.5 goals, and Sunday afternoon's meeting with Michel Der Zakarian's Stade Brestois 29 really should be a similar story.

Lille v PSG, 19:45

Mauricio Pochettino and his Paris Saint-Germain side have developed a convenient knack of getting something from just about every Ligue 1 fixture they play. They're unbeaten in 13 in Ligue 1 now, so Jocelyn Gourvennec and his Lille side will have to be at their best if they're going to get anything at Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday.

Build Your Ligue 1 Accumulator

For a long time, Ligue wasn’t thought to be the same standard as some of the bigger leagues in Europe, but that now seems to be changing.

PSG’s massive investment in the club and the team’s playing staff have changed the face of French football. Desperate for Champions League success, that Parisien side have spent big and largely dominated the league – winning four of the last five Ligue 1 titles.

Despite PSG’s dominance, Monaco have created one of the most exciting young sides in Europe, and other sides such as Nice and Lyon also compete strongly.

So how do you identify a good bet in Ligue 1? Well, any of the top teams are capable of beating each other, but there is a significant drop-off in quality as you head down the table.

Use the form data and infographics to support every prediction on the site. Simply click on the tip to view data specific to the betting market selected.

Our Pro Betting Guide also gives in-depth insight into the offensive and defensive attributes of each side, helping you to make the right picks.
