Championship stats and tips

Saturday 9th December

Blackburn v Leeds - Double Chance - away win or draw

D. Farke and his Leeds United side have gained a handy habit of claiming something from pretty much every Championship fixture they play. They're unbeaten in 6 in the Championship now, so J. Dahl Tomasson and his Blackburn Rovers charges will have to be at their best if they're to get the win at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Sunderland v West Brom - Over / Under 0.5 Goals - under

Fans heading to Stadium of Light this Saturday to watch West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland might already be fearing a boring lunch time, and who could blame them? Carlos Corberan's charges have been involved in 3 matches with under 0.5 goals this season, the highest number of any team in the Championship. Will either side score? You can bet against it at best odds of 11.00.

Cardiff v Millwall - Over / Under 4.5 Goals - under

Millwall's recent outings in the Championship have delivered spills and thrills aplenty, but it has been too long since J. Edwards's players gave their followers one of those games that has you waxing lyrical in the pub afterwards. There have been under 4.5 goals in each of their last 19 matches.

Huddersfield v Bristol C - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring encounters aren't always boring, but fans of Bristol City have had lots of chances to test that theory this campaign. 12 of their side's fixtures in the Championship have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will Darren Moore and his Huddersfield Town side be capable of adding some spice into this match on Saturday? Or will it be more of the same?

Leicester v Plymouth - Over / Under 4.5 Goals - under

We all love a game in which more than 4 goals fly in, but Leicester City's hardy fans have now been waiting 10 matches to watch their club deliver one. That’s too long by anyone’s count. Will that much-needed goal-fest finally come around on Saturday afternoon, as they face Steven Schumacher's Plymouth Argyle at King Power Stadium? With odds of 1.30 on there being 4 goals or fewer being scored, the bookies clearly have their doubts.

M'Boro v Ipswich - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

M. Carrick won't be looking forward to facing Ipswich Town in the Championship on Saturday. Kieran McKenna's side have led at the break and gone on to win at fulltime in more games than any other club in the the Championship this season - 11 times in total. That record suggests it could well be a long afternoon for Middlesbrough, and that backing Ipswich Town in the halftime fulltime market would be a strong bet at odds of 5.20.

QPR v Hull - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at Loftus Road Stadium will be banking on action at both ends on Saturday, and they're right to, if Hull City's recent record is anything to go by. Both teams have scored in 13 of their 19 Championship matches this season, the largest number in the competition.

Rotherham v Swansea - Double Chance - away win or draw

Supporting your team home and away can be a tough old business, and Rotherham United’s long-suffering follows know that feeling especially well at the moment. Their side, led by Matt Taylor, has not won any of their last 7 Championship matches, and few will be expecting them to end that run against Swansea City at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Backing opposition boss Michael Duff to add another to that list by leading his team to either a win or draw is available at best odds of 1.30.

Stoke v Sheff Wed - Both Teams To Score - no

If we trust the form book, we can back at least one set of players to earn a clean sheet at bet365 Stadium on Saturday, as D. Röhl and Alex Neil's sides clash. Sheffield Wednesday have had the highest number of games where one team or more has not scored (i.e. BTTS no) in the Championship so far this campaign - 12 out of 19 played. Both managers will just be hoping it isn't their side that flounders in front of goal.

Watford v Southampton - Double Chance - away win or draw

Russell Martin and his Southampton team have gained a useful habit of taking something from almost every Championship game they play. They're unbeaten in 11 in the Championship now, so Valérien Ismaël and his Watford side will need to be on top of their game if they're to stand any chance at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
