League One stats and tips

Tuesday 17th February

Barnsley v Peterborough - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - over

If you fancy a thriller on Tuesday evening, then the clash between Barnsley and Peterborough United could be one to watch. C. Hourihane's team lead League One in most matches with at least 3 goals scored so far this season. 19 of their League One games have already gone that way. With form like that, surely only an entirely negative game plan from L. Williams's men could keep the score down.

Bradford v Stockport - Double Chance - away win or draw

Every now and then we get a golden spell in football, and it has now been a while since since Stockport County’s joyous supporters watched their lads get beaten in League One. D. Challinor’s boys are now unbeaten in 6 outings, and he'll be telling them that they can extend that run against Bradford City at Northern Commercials Stadium on Tuesday evening. Top odds of 1.48 are available to back Stockport County to get the win or the draw.

Burton v Rotherham - Both Teams To Score - yes

Burton Albion followers have become used to action at each end when their side plays in League One, with both teams having found the net in every one of their last 6 games. Rotherham United on Tuesday evening may well be another goal-fest.

Cardiff v AFC Wim - Win / Draw / Win - home win

This season in particular, Cardiff City's loyal supporters have come to expect a lot from their club and, in the opinion of KickOff's tipsters, they may just have them met on Tuesday evening. 20 of our users are tipping that B. Barry-Murphy's side will emerge victorious as J. Jackson's AFC Wimbledon visit Cardiff City Stadium. Will you be backing the same?

Doncaster v Huddersfield - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like tipping goals and choosing a victor, then the upcoming fixture between Huddersfield Town and Doncaster Rovers could be worth a look. G. Lee's side have lost 8 games this season in which both clubs have found the net. That's the highest number in League One.

Exeter v Wycombe - Both Teams To Score - no

If the form book is to be believed, we can back at least one goalkeeper to earn a clean sheet at St James Park on Tuesday, as G. Caldwell and M. Duff's teams meet. Exeter City have had the most games where one team or more has failed to score (i.e. BTTS no) in League One so far this campaign - 20 out of 30 played. Both managers will just be praying it isn't their team that flounders in front of goal.

L Orient v Plymouth - Over / Under 4.5 Goals - under

The 5+ goal game may be a rare beast, but Leyton Orient's long-suffering supporters have now had to wait 10 matches to see their team take part in one. Certainly they could be forgiven for craving some proper excitement by now. Will that much-needed goal-fest finally come around on Tuesday evening, as they face T. Cleverley's Plymouth Argyle at Matchroom Stadium? With odds of 1.13 on there being 4 goals or fewer being scored, the bookmakers certainly don’t think so.

Lincoln v Northampton - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Northampton Town are in for a big test as they go to Sincil Bank. Home wins occur frequently in League One, and the expectation is that Lincoln City and their manager M. Skubala will grab exactly that as they do battle with K. Nolan's charges on Tuesday evening. 24 of KickOff's members have are backing just that, taking advantage of top odds of 1.48, and our 64.57 gives a 64.57% chance of them being proved correct.

Stevenage v Port Vale - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Evidentally a lot of our tipsters have a resounding belief in A. Revell and his ability to deliver a win for Stevenage on Tuesday evening. 8 have predicted him to inspire his team to win against Port Vale. Hopefully the home boss doesn't let them down.

Blackpool v Mansfield - Double Chance - home win or draw

It has been a miserable succession of results for Mansfield Town and their supporters, with their last League One victory now coming 5 games ago. Boss N. Clough has to find a solution, and quickly. Will Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday provide some relief?

Reading v Bolton - Double Chance - away win or draw

S. Schumacher and his Bolton Wanderers troops have found a convenient habit of getting something from almost every League One fixture they play. They're unbeaten in 7 in League One now, so L. Richardson and his Reading charges will have their work cut out if they're going to get anything at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday.

Wednesday 18th February

Wigan v Luton - Win / Draw / Win - away win

Losing streaks can be incredibly difficult to break, but that's exactly what must be done by Wigan Athletic boss R. Lowe on Wednesday. His players face Luton Town having lost each of their last 4 League One outings.

Saturday 21st February

Plymouth v Cardiff - Both Teams To Score & Result - away

Plymouth Argyle will know that 1 goal is unlikely to be enough to claim victory over Cardiff City on Saturday lunch time. B. Barry-Murphy's team have the best record in League One when it comes to winning games in which both teams are on the scoresheet (9 of their 31 matches), so defence first might be the best course of action for T. Cleverley and his Plymouth Argyle men at Home Park.

Rotherham v Doncaster - Over / Under 5.5 Goals - over

Doncaster Rovers have been League One's entertainers this campaign, at least in terms of producing high scoring fixtures. No other club can boast more than their record of having taken part in 4 over 5.5 goal games this campaign. Can they make that 5 when they face Rotherham United on Saturday lunch time? With odds of 15.00 available, it could be worth backing.

Wycombe v Stevenage - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It might not be a record they're particularly enamoured with, but Stevenage currently lead all opponents in League One when it comes to matches drawn at both halftime and fulltime this season, with their tally now at 8 in 30 games. They will put that unwanted consistency to the test versus Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Saturday, in a clash that could see yet another dead heat.

Huddersfield v Barnsley - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - over

If you fancy a thriller on Saturday afternoon, then the clash between Barnsley and Huddersfield Town could be worth checking out. C. Hourihane's team lead League One in most matches with more than 2 goals scored so far this season. 19 of their League One games have already gone that way. With a record like that, surely only an entirely negative game plan from G. Lee's men could prevent more of the same.

Mansfield v Lincoln - Double Chance - away win or draw

Mansfield Town simply have not been able to find a way past Lincoln City in the league in recent years. The two teams have played on 6 occasions since 2018, and Lincoln City have been unbeaten in them all. Saturday's game at One Call Stadium could be another hard one for N. Clough & co.

Northampton v L Orient - Over / Under 0.5 Goals - under

Supporters heading to Sixfields Stadium this Saturday to watch Northampton Town and Leyton Orient might already be worrying about a long afternoon, and rightly so. K. Nolan's men have been involved in 5 nil-nils this campaign, the most of any team in League One. Will anybody break the deadlock? Bet against it at best odds of 9.00.

Peterborough v Exeter - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Peterborough United will be looking to avoid adding to the 11 matches they have already been behind in at both halftime and fulltime this campaign when they square off against Exeter City on Saturday. L. Williams's team already top the rest of League One in that area, and won't want to make their record any worse. Opposing boss G. Caldwell , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.

Port Vale v Reading - Both Teams To Score - yes

Fans at Vale Park will be banking on goals galore on Saturday, and rightly so if Reading's past record is to be continued. Both teams have found the net in 21 of their 31 League One matches this season, a record matched by no other team in the competition.

Stockport v Wigan - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring fixtures aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Wigan Athletic have had too many chances to test that theory this term. 20 of their side's fixtures in League One have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will D. Challinor and his Stockport County side be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this encounter on Saturday? Or will it be same old same old?

Tuesday 24th February

Bradford v Rotherham - Win / Draw / Win - home win

The home win is far and away the most popular bet among KickOff's tipsters as Bradford City and Rotherham United clash in League One on Saturday. A total of 76 have backed it already, with top odds of 1.65 catching their eye.

Doncaster v Luton - Over / Under 5.5 Goals - over

Doncaster Rovers have been League One's showmen this campaign, at least in terms of serving up goal-filled fixtures. No other team comes close to their record of having been involved in 4 games with at least 6 goals scored this term. Can they make that 5 when they face Luton Town on Tuesday evening? With odds of 15.00 on offer, it might be one to watch.

Saturday 28th February

Wigan v Huddersfield - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and picking a victor, then the upcoming game between Huddersfield Town and Wigan Athletic might well be worth a look. G. Lee's side have lost 8 games this campaign in which both sides have scored. That's the most in League One.

Tuesday 3rd March

Exeter v Burton - Double Chance - away win or draw

Claiming at least a draw away from home is no mean feat but, according to KO's tipsters that's exactly what G. Bowyer's players will do when they take on Exeter City on Saturday at St James Park. 15 are backing them in the double chance market from G. Caldwell's side

Rotherham v Mansfield - Win / Draw / Win - away win

It's never easy to end a losing run, but that's the task facing Rotherham United boss M. Hamshaw on Sunday. His team faces Mansfield Town having been beaten in each of their last 6 League One matches.

Tuesday 10th March

Exeter v Lincoln - Win / Draw / Win - home win

A simple tally suggests our tipsters have a great deal of belief in G. Caldwell and his ability to deliver a win for Exeter City on Saturday afternoon. 6 have bet on him to inspire his lads to emerge victorious from their encounter with Lincoln City. Hopefully the home boss doesn't let them down.

Mansfield v Reading - Double Chance - away win or draw

A satisfyingly long time has passed since Reading’s merry fans watched their side lose in League One. L. Richardson’s men are now unbeaten in 5 matches, and he'll be hopeful that they can keep that streak running against Mansfield Town at One Call Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Best odds of 1.48 can be grabbed to back Reading to avoid defeat yet again.

Port Vale v Bradford - Double Chance - away win or draw

Claiming at least a draw on the road is no mean feat but, according to our tipsters that's exactly what G. Alexander's men will do when they square off against Port Vale on Tuesday at Vale Park. 10 are backing them to draw or win from D. Moore's men

Stevenage v L Orient - Win / Draw / Win - home win

A home win seems to be the most popular pick among the wise and well-informed members of KickOff as Stevenage and Leyton Orient clash in League One on Sunday. In total 9 have saved that bet on the site, with largest odds of 2.15 proving to be enticing enough for many.

Tuesday 14th April

AFC Wim v Stockport - Over / Under 4.5 Goals - under

We all love a game in which more than 4 goals fly in, but Stockport County's dedicated supporters have now waited 8 matches to watch their team deliver one. A frustrating statistic in anyone's book. Will that much-needed goal-fest finally come around on Saturday afternoon, as they face J. Jackson's AFC Wimbledon at Cherry Red Records Stadium? With odds of 1.07 on there being under 4.5 goals, the bookmakers certainly don’t think so.

Port Vale v Barnsley - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - over

Tipsters and fans alike will be praying for a deluge of goals when Port Vale and Barnsley go head-to-head on Sunday afternoon in League One. D. Moore and C. Hourihane's squads are more than talented enough to score in this fixture, and KickOff's smart tipsters are backing them to show that at Vale Park. 8 of them are tipping there to be at least 3 goals in total. 1.95 is the most-enticing price in our betslip for their suggestion, and there will be a lot of happy faces around if it does deliver.

Which League One Predictions Should you Pick?

League One is tough to work out before the first ten games have been played each season as a quarter of the teams change from one year to the next - with four relegated to League Two and three promoted to the Championship.

This also means it is equally hard for the bookmakers to set the right odds and there are many great bets to be made through the season.

Key points to look for in such a competitive league are teams going on a streak of good or bad form.

Also, use our Pro Betting Guide to assess in-game statistics such as clean sheets or goal scoring averages. The Guide provides eight attacking and eight defensive in-game stats.

It is a great way of seeing which League One side has the chance of winning if both sides have a very similar win ratios coming into a fixture.
