League One stats and tips

Saturday 29th November

Blackpool v Reading - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring encounters aren't always tedious affairs, but fans of Blackpool have had too many chances to test that theory this campaign. 11 of their side's fixtures in League One have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will L. Richardson and his Reading team be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this encounter on Saturday? Or will it be more of the same?

Stockport v Barnsley - Both Teams To Score - yes

When Stockport County and Barnsley have met in the league, they've delivered proper entertainment. Both teams have found the net in each of their last 6 matches against one another, so the Edgeley Park faithful could be in for another classic on Saturday lunch time.

Bradford v Exeter - Double Chance - away win or draw

It has been a miserable run of results for Bradford City and their faithful followers, with their last League One victory now coming 6 games ago. Boss G. Alexander simply must find a way out, and sooner rather than later. Will Exeter City at Northern Commercials Stadium on Saturday come too soon, or be a turning point?

Burton v L Orient - Over / Under 4.5 Goals - over

If you're in the market for goals this Saturday, you could probably do worse than betting on the game at Pirelli Stadium. 5 of Leyton Orient's League One games this campaign have wound up with over 4.5 goals - the highest number in the competition. Who would bet against an extension of that record, especially with odds of 5.50 available?

Cardiff v Mansfield - Over / Under 5.5 Goals - over

Cardiff City have been League One's entertainers this campaign, at least in terms of serving up high scoring fixtures. No other team can boast more than their record of having played in 1 six-goal thrillers this season. Can they make it 2 when they play Mansfield Town on Saturday afternoon? With odds of 11.00 available, it could be one to watch.

Doncaster v Peterborough - Double Chance - away win or draw

What a dismal succession of results for Doncaster Rovers and their supporters, with their last League One win now coming 10 games ago. Boss G. McCann simply must find a way out, and sooner rather than later. Will Peterborough United at The Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday come too soon, or be a turning point?

Huddersfield v AFC Wim - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Losing streaks can be incredibly difficult to break, but that's exactly what must be done by AFC Wimbledon boss J. Jackson on Saturday. His players face Huddersfield Town having been beaten in each of their last 3 League One outings.

Lincoln v Port Vale - Double Chance - home win or draw

It has been a miserable set of results for Port Vale and their faithful followers, with their last League One win now coming 7 matches ago. Boss D. Moore simply must find a solution, and preferably right away. Will Lincoln City at Sincil Bank on Saturday be the one in which they turn it around?

Luton v Bolton - Both Teams To Score - no

Going on form alone, we can back at least one goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, as J. Wilshere and S. Schumacher's sides clash. Luton Town have had the highest number of matches where one team or more has not scored (i.e. BTTS no) in League One so far this term - 12 out of 17 played. Both managers will just be hoping it isn't their team that draws a blank.

Plymouth v Northampton - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Plymouth Argyle will be hoping not to add to the 8 matches they have already been behind in at both the break and the final whistle this campaign when they face Northampton Town on Saturday. T. Cleverley's players already lead the rest of League One in that area, and won't want to make the situation any worse. Opposing boss K. Nolan may not feel the same way, however.

Rotherham v Wycombe - Double Chance - home win or draw

M. Hamshaw and his Rotherham United troops have found a handy knack of claiming something from almost every League One fixture they play. They're unbeaten in 8 in League One now, so M. Duff and his Wycombe Wanderers charges will have their work cut out if they're to get the win at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday.

Wigan v Stevenage - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Stevenage have played out some low-scoring matches in League One of late. There have been under 2.5 goals in all of A. Revell's side's last 6 outings and, with R. Lowe and his Wigan Athletic ahead on Saturday afternoon, their forwards may well need to put in some extra graft in the build-up.

Saturday 6th December

Cardiff v Huddersfield - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and choosing a victor, then the upcoming fixture between Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City could be the one for you. G. Lee's side have lost 6 games this campaign in which both clubs have got on the scoresheet. That's the most in League One.

Tuesday 9th December

Northampton v Huddersfield - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and choosing a victor, then the upcoming match between Huddersfield Town and Northampton Town could be the one for you. G. Lee's side have lost 5 games this campaign in which both teams have found the net. That's the most in League One.

Tuesday 20th January

Stevenage v Bolton - Double Chance - away win or draw

Stevenage have consistently struggled against Bolton Wanderers in the league in recent years. The two teams have played on 6 occasions since 2020, and Bolton Wanderers have remained unbeaten in them all. Saturday's game at Lamex Stadium could be another hard one for A. Revell & co.

This also means it is equally hard for the bookmakers to set the right odds and there are many great bets to be made through the season.

Key points to look for in such a competitive league are teams going on a streak of good or bad form.

Also, use our Pro Betting Guide to assess in-game statistics such as clean sheets or goal scoring averages. The Guide provides eight attacking and eight defensive in-game stats.

It is a great way of seeing which League One side has the chance of winning if both sides have a very similar win ratios coming into a fixture.
