League One stats and tips

Thursday 17th September

AFC Wim v MK Dons - Double Chance - home win or draw

Following your football club can be a thankless task, and MK Dons’s long-suffering follows know that only too well at the moment. Their side, led by P. Warne, is now winless in their previous 7 league matches, and the clouds hardly look like parting against AFC Wimbledon at Cherry Red Records Stadium on Thursday night. Backing opposition gaffer J. Jackson to add another to that list by inspiring his team to either a win or draw can be backed at top odds of 1.57.

Saturday 19th September

Burton v Mansfield - Double Chance - home win or draw

Mansfield Town simply have not been able to find a way past Burton Albion in the league in recent years. The two clubs have clashed on 8 occasions since 2013, and Burton Albion have gone unbeaten in them all. Saturday's game at Pirelli Stadium could be a really difficult one for N. Clough & co.

Blackpool v Plymouth - Double Chance - away win or draw

Blackpool simply have not been able to find a way past Plymouth Argyle in the League One in recent years. The two clubs have met on 5 occasions since 2019, and Plymouth Argyle have been unbeaten in them all. Saturday's game at Bloomfield Road could be another hard one for I. Evatt & co.

Bromley v Huddersfield - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Bromley will be looking to avoid adding to the 3 games they have already lost at both the break and the final whistle this term when they play Huddersfield Town on Saturday. A. Woodman's players already top the rest of League One in that department, and won't want to make their record any worse. Opposing boss M. Drury will be licking his lips, however.

L Orient v Stevenage - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like tipping goals and picking a victor, then the upcoming match between Leyton Orient and Stevenage could be the one for you. R. Wellens's side have lost 3 games this campaign in which both sides have found the net. That's a record in League One.

Luton v Bradford - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring encounters aren't always tedious affairs, but fans of Bradford City have had plenty of opportunity to test that theory this term. 5 of their side's encounters in League One have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will J. Wilshere and his Luton Town team be capable of adding some goals into this fixture on Saturday? Or will it be same old same old?

Oxford Utd v Cambridge - Both Teams To Score - yes

Supporters at The Kassam Stadium will be banking on action at both ends on Saturday, and rightly so if Cambridge United's recent record is to be continued. Both teams have scored in 6 of their 6 League One fixtures this season, more than any side in the competition.

Peterborough v Doncaster - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - over

Stats suggest we could have some serious entertainment at ABAX Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Each of Doncaster Rovers and Peterborough United's last 5 League One meetings have had over 2.5 goals, and G. McCann and L. Williams's sides look a strong bet to keep the streak going.

Reading v Notts C - Half Time / Full Time - draw+draw

It might not be a record they're all that proud of, but Notts County currently lead all opposition in League One when it comes to matches in which they have been level at both halftime and fulltime this season, with their tally now at 3 in 6 outings. They will put that somewhat unwelcome consistency to the test against Reading at Madejski Stadium on Saturday, in a fixture that could see yet another dead heat.

Sheff Wed v Stockport - Both Teams To Score & Result - home

Stockport County will be aware that 1 goal may not be enough to claim victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon. H. Pedersen's side have the best record in League One when it comes to claiming victory despite conceding (4 of their 6 matches), so focusing on defence might be the only viable route for J. McNulty and his Stockport County men at Hillsborough.

Wigan v Wycombe - Double Chance - away win or draw

Wigan Athletic simply have not been able to find a way past Wycombe Wanderers in the League One in recent years. The two teams have played on 5 occasions since 2024, and Wycombe Wanderers have gone unbeaten in them all. Saturday's game at DW Stadium could be a tricky one for G. Caldwell & co.

Saturday 26th September

Mansfield v L Orient - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like tipping goals and picking a victor, then the upcoming fixture between Leyton Orient and Mansfield Town could warrant a closer look. R. Wellens's side have lost 3 games this term in which both clubs have got on the scoresheet. That's the highest number in League One.

Notts C v Blackpool - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming fixture between Blackpool and Notts County could be worth a look. I. Evatt's side have lost 2 games this campaign in which both teams have found the net. That's the highest number in League One.

Which League One Predictions Should you Pick?

League One is tough to work out before the first ten games have been played each season as a quarter of the teams change from one year to the next - with four relegated to League Two and three promoted to the Championship.

This also means it is equally hard for the bookmakers to set the right odds and there are many great bets to be made through the season.

Key points to look for in such a competitive league are teams going on a streak of good or bad form.

Also, use our Pro Betting Guide to assess in-game statistics such as clean sheets or goal scoring averages. The Guide provides eight attacking and eight defensive in-game stats.

It is a great way of seeing which League One side has the chance of winning if both sides have a very similar win ratios coming into a fixture.
