Championship stats and tips

Saturday 21st February

Hull v QPR - Both Teams To Score & Result - under

If you like tipping goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming clash between Queens Park Rangers and Hull City might well be worth a look. J. Stéphan's side have lost 11 games this term in which both sides have scored. That's the highest number in the Championship.

Stoke v Leicester - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Losing streaks can be incredibly difficult to break, but that's exactly what must be done by Leicester City boss M. Cifuentes Corvillo on Saturday. His team faces Stoke City having lost each of their last 4 Championship games.

West Brom v Coventry - Double Chance - away win or draw

What a dismal run of results for West Bromwich Albion and their fans, with their last Championship victory now coming 8 matches ago. Boss R. Mason simply must find a remedy, and sooner rather than later. Will Coventry City at The Hawthorns on Saturday be the one in which they turn it around?

M'Boro v Oxford Utd - Both Teams To Score - yes

When Middlesbrough and Oxford United have met in the Championship, goals have generally followed. Both teams have found the net in each of their last 7 meetings, so the Riverside Stadium faithful could be in for another classic on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich v Birmingham - Double Chance - away win or draw

Every now and then we get a golden spell in football, and it has now been a while since since Birmingham City’s joyous fans watched their lads get beaten in the Championship. C. Davies’s squad is now unbeaten in 7 outings, and he will be expecting that they can extend that run against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon. Best odds of 1.50 can be grabbed to back Birmingham City the double chance market.

Southampton v Charlton - Double Chance - home win or draw

W. Still and his Southampton team have gained a useful knack of claiming something from pretty much every Championship match they play. They're unbeaten in 5 in the Championship now, so N. Jones and his Charlton Athletic charges will have their work cut out if they're going to get anything at St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday.

Watford v Derby - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Watford have dominated Derby County in the Championship of late, with a run of 5 straight wins against them. J. Eustace will be doing all he can to turn the tide, while J. Gracia Carlos will be hopeful of more of the same on Saturday afternoon.

Wrexham v Ipswich - Over / Under 4.5 Goals - under

Games with 5 goals or more don’t come around every day, but Ipswich Town's loyal followers have now been waiting 16 games to watch their team deliver one. Certainly they could be forgiven for craving some proper excitement by now. Could the streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon, as they face P. Parkinson's Wrexham at Racecourse Ground, Wrexham? With odds of 1.11 on there being 4 goals or fewer being scored, the bookmakers certainly don’t think so.

Sunday 22nd February

Sheff Utd v Sheff Wed - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Evidentally a lot of our tipsters have a resounding belief in C. Wilder and his ability to deliver victory for Sheffield United on Sunday lunch time. 9 have predicted him to propel his team to win against Sheffield Wednesday. Here's hoping that their faith in him isn't misplaced.

Tuesday 24th February

Hull v Derby - Double Chance - away win or draw

Hull City simply have not been able to find a way past Derby County in the Championship in recent years. The two clubs have played on 6 occasions since 2020, and Derby County have gone unbeaten in them all. Tuesday's game at KCOM Stadium could be a tricky one for S. Jakirović & co.

M'Boro v Leicester - Double Chance - home win or draw

Leicester City have found something of a bogey team in Middlesbrough in the league in recent years. The two clubs have met on 5 occasions since 2016, and Middlesbrough have been unbeaten in them all. Tuesday's game at Riverside Stadium could be a tricky one for M. Cifuentes Corvillo & co.

Watford v Ipswich - Double Chance - away win or draw

Watford simply have not been able to find a way past Ipswich Town in the Championship in recent years. The two clubs have played on 5 occasions since 2014, and Ipswich Town have remained unbeaten in them all. Tuesday's game at Vicarage Road could be a really difficult one for J. Gracia Carlos & co.

Southampton v QPR - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Southampton have dominated Queens Park Rangers in the league in recent years, with their streak now extending to 5 straight wins against them. J. Stéphan will be hoping for a change in fortunes, while W. Still will be hoping for more of the same on Tuesday night.

Wednesday 25th February

Norwich v Sheff Wed - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to avoid adding to the 14 games they have already been behind in at both halftime and fulltime this campaign when they square off against Norwich City on Wednesday. H. Pedersen's team already top the rest of the Championship in that department, and won't want to make the situation any worse. Opposing boss L. Manning will be licking his lips, however.

Sheff Utd v Coventry - Both Teams To Score & Result - away

Sheffield United will know that 1 goal is unlikely to be enough to come out on top against Coventry City on Wednesday evening. F. Lampard's side have the best record in the Championship when it comes to winning games in which both teams are on the scoresheet (11 of their 32 matches), so focusing on defence might be the best course of action for C. Wilder and his Sheffield United men at Bramall Lane.

Stoke v Oxford Utd - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring matches aren't always entirely dull, but fans of Stoke City have had lots of chances to test that theory this campaign. 20 of their side's matches in the Championship have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will G. Rowett and his Oxford United team be able to inject goals into this match on Wednesday? Or will it be same old same old?

Saturday 28th February

Leicester v Norwich - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like putting your money on goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming clash between Leicester City and Norwich City could be worth a look. M. Cifuentes Corvillo's side have lost 10 games this season in which both clubs have got on the scoresheet. That's the most in the Championship.

QPR v Sheff Utd - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like tipping goals and choosing a winner, then the upcoming fixture between Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United might well be worth a look. J. Stéphan's side have lost 11 games this season in which both clubs have found the net. That's a record in the Championship.
