Premiership stats and tips

Saturday 24th January

Aberdeen v Livingston - Win / Draw / Win - away win

Losing streaks can be incredibly difficult to break, but that's exactly what must be done by Aberdeen boss Peter Leven on Saturday. His team faces Livingston having lost each of their last 4 Premiership games.

Dundee Utd v St. Mirren - Double Chance - home win or draw

Following your football club can be hard going, and St. Mirren’s dogged old follows know that only too well right now. Their club, led by S. Robinson, is now winless in their previous 6 Premiership matches, and few will be expecting them to end that run against Dundee United at Tannadice Park on Saturday afternoon. Backing opposition gaffer J. Goodwin to add another to that list by guiding his lads to anything other than a defeat can be backed at best odds of 1.44.

Falkirk v Hibernian - Double Chance - away win or draw

D. Gray and his Hibernian side have found a handy way of getting something from pretty much every Premiership match they play. They're unbeaten in 5 in the Premiership now, so J. McGlynn and his Falkirk team will have their work cut out if they're to stand any chance at Falkirk Community Stadium on Saturday.

Motherwell v Kilmarnock - Double Chance - home win or draw

What a dreadful set of results for Kilmarnock and their faithful followers, with their last Premiership victory now coming 15 games ago. Boss S. Kettlewell needs to find a remedy, and preferably right away. Will Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday be the one in which they turn it around?

Sunday 25th January

Hearts v Celtic - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

M. O'Neill won't be relishing going up against Heart of Midlothian in the Premiership on Sunday. D. McInnes's side have been ahead at HT and gone on to claim victory at final whistle in more games than any other side in the the Premiership this term - 10 times in total. That stat suggests there's every chance of it being a tough afternoon for Celtic, and that backing Heart of Midlothian in the HT FT market would be a strong bet at odds of 5.00.

Rangers v Dundee - Win / Draw / Win - home win

Few will have missed the impressive form of Rangers in recent weeks. They've claimed victory in 5 consecutive Premiership matches, and D. Röhl will be desperate to maintain that winning streak as they face Dundee at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday 31st January

Kilmarnock v Aberdeen - Over / Under 2.5 Goals - under

Low scoring matches aren't always boring, but fans of Aberdeen have had too many chances to test that theory this term. 16 of their side's encounters in the Premiership have finished with under 2.5 goals so far - the most in the competition. Will S. Kettlewell and his Kilmarnock team be capable of adding some goalmouth action into this fixture on Saturday? Or will it be same old same old?

Livingston v Motherwell - Win / Draw / Win - away win

Motherwell have dominated Livingston in the Premiership in recent years, putting together a run of 5 straight wins against them. D. Martindale will be desperate to stop the rot, while J. Askou will be hopeful of more of the same on Saturday afternoon.

St. Mirren v Dundee - Half Time / Full Time - home+home

Dundee will be hoping not to add to the 10 matches they have already been losing at both halftime and fulltime this season when they square off against St. Mirren on Saturday. S. Pressley's team already top the rest of the Premiership in that department, and won't want to make their record any worse. Opposing boss S. Robinson , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.

Dundee Utd v Hearts - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

J. Goodwin won't be relishing the prospect of playing Heart of Midlothian in the Premiership on Saturday. D. McInnes's side have led at the break and gone on to secure the win at FT more frequently than any other side in the the Premiership this term - 10 times in total. That stat suggests there's every chance of it being a long night for Dundee United, and that backing Heart of Midlothian in the HT FT market could be a great shout at odds of 2.63.

Sunday 1st February

Celtic v Falkirk - Both Teams To Score & Result - home

Falkirk will be aware that 1 goal may not be enough to claim victory over Celtic on Sunday afternoon. M. O'Neill's men have the best record in the Premiership when it comes to claiming victory despite conceding (5 of their 22 games), so focusing on defence might be the best course of action for J. McGlynn and his Falkirk team at Celtic Park.

Tuesday 3rd February

St. Mirren v Hearts - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

S. Robinson won't be too excited about the prospect of playing Heart of Midlothian in the Premiership on Tuesday. D. McInnes's side have led at HT and gone on to win at final whistle in more games than any other club in the the Premiership this season - 10 times in total. That stat suggests there's every chance of it being a demoralising night for St. Mirren, and that backing Heart of Midlothian in the halftime fulltime market would be a strong bet at odds of 2.75.

Wednesday 4th February

Dundee v Motherwell - Half Time / Full Time - away+away

Dundee will be hoping not to add to the 10 matches they have already been losing at both the break and the final whistle this campaign when they take on Motherwell on Wednesday. S. Pressley's side already top the rest of the Premiership in that area, and won't want to make it any worse. Opposing boss J. Askou , on the other hand, will be feeling very differently.

Hibernian v Dundee Utd - Both Teams To Score - yes

When Hibernian and Dundee United have met in the Premiership, goals have generally followed. Both teams have found the net in each of their last 8 clashes, so the Easter Road crowd will be expecting another thriller on Wednesday evening.

Livingston v Falkirk - Double Chance - home win or draw

Falkirk have found something of a bogey team in Livingston in the league in recent years. The two clubs have met on 12 occasions since 2016, and Livingston have gone unbeaten in them all. Wednesday's game at Tony Macaroni Arena could be another hard one for J. McGlynn & co.

Rangers v Kilmarnock - Both Teams To Score & Result -

If you like backing goals and picking a victor, then the upcoming fixture between Kilmarnock and Rangers could be worth a look. S. Kettlewell's side have lost 7 games this season in which both sides have got on the scoresheet. That's the highest number in the Premiership.

Aberdeen v Celtic - Win / Draw / Win - away win

Celtic have enjoyed meeting Aberdeen in the Premiership of late, with a run of 5 straight wins against them. Peter Leven will be doing all he can to turn the tide, while M. O'Neill will be hopeful of more of the same on Wednesday night.
