Over/Under 0.5 Goals Tips & Predictions

Over/under 0.5 goals is a popular betting market with punters across a variety of football leagues and matches.

It’s easy enough to get your head around. Essentially, you bet on no goals to be scored, or more.

It’s not as difficult to predict as some others, however, there are still attractive odds to be found - particularly if you place an acca bet.

Over / Under 0.5 Goals Tips and Predictions - Friday 13th to Monday 16th December

Nimes v Nantes – Over 0.5 Goals

Nimes have now been involved in 22 consecutive top-flight fixtures on their own patch in which at least a single goal has been netted, so 0-0 draws appear to have been consigned to the dustbin in this part of the world. As for Nantes, the former Ligue 1 winners are currently on a run of 15 matches since they were last involved in a goalless draw at this level.

Bordeaux v Strasbourg – Over 0.5 Goals

Over the course of their last 15 Ligue 1 matches, Strasbourg have not been involved in a single goalless draw, so last season’s Coupe de la Ligue winners have been the epitome of consistency on that front. Bordeaux have taken things to a whole new level, however, playing in 25 consecutive top-flight fixtures in which at least a single goal has been netted.

Elche v Las Palmas – Over 0.5 Goals

Elche have played nine home games in Spanish football’s second tier so far this season, with the net bulging at least once in every single one of those encounters. Given that the last 15 Segunda Division matches involving Las Palmas have also been of the over 0.5 goals variety, it is hard to see the deadlock remaining unbroken when the two teams go head-to-head.

Guingamp v Troyes – Over 0.5 Goals

Irrespective of which division they have been operating in, Guingamp have not been particularly big on 0-0 draws recently, managing just one in their previous 20 league games. Including the playoffs, only one of the last 18 Troyes matches at this level has finished scoreless, meaning that such an outcome would represent somewhat of a surprise here.

Over / Under 0.5 Goals Tips For This Weekend - Friday 6th to Monday 9th December

Granada v Alaves – Over 0.5 Goals

Since drawing 0-0 at Espanyol on April Fools’ Day 2018, Alaves have made 30 trips in La Liga, with every single one of these encounters producing at least a single goal. Given that none of the last 15 Granada home matches in the league have finished scoreless either, irrespective of which division they have been operating in, a 0-0 draw would be a surprise.

Maritimo v Santa Clara – Over 0.5 Goals

Over the course of their last 12 home games at the top table of Portuguese football, Maritimo have not been involved in a single 0-0 draw, so consistency has certainly not been lacking on that front. Santa Clara have been involved in eight consecutive Primeira Liga fixtures featuring one goal or more themselves, so the deadlock will surely be broken at some point.

Eibar v Getafe – Over 0.5 Goals

Eibar are clearly intent on keeping their supporters coming back for more, with none of their previous 16 top-flight home games finishing goalless, and there is no reason to expect things to change in this meeting with Getafe. That is because the visitors have now been involved in 11 consecutive away matches in La Liga in which at least a single goal has been netted.

Leganes v Celta Vigo – Over 0.5 Goals

The previous five Celta Vigo away games in La Liga have served up a total of 16 goals, so the Galician outfit could hardly be accused of failing to provide their travelling supporters with entertainment. As for Leganes, they are currently on a run of 18 top-flight fixtures in a row in which one goal or more has been netted, so something similar is expected here.

Over / Under 0.5 Goals Tips For This Weekend - Friday 29th November to Monday 2nd December

Ponferradina v Albacete – Over 0.5 Goals

Ponferradina have featured 17 times in the Segunda Division since gaining promotion, with none of these fixtures ending 0-0, so it is hard to see anything different happening in their meeting with Albacete. Another reason for that is the recent away record of the visitors, who, including the playoffs, have featured in 18 consecutive games containing one goal or more.

Fuenlabrada v Cadiz – Over 0.5 Goals

If their recent away results are anything to go by, then Cadiz do not believe in 0-0 draws, as the promotion-chasers have now been involved in 19 consecutive fixtures in which the net has bulged at least once. It has been a similar story as far as Fuenlabrada are concerned on home soil this season, with none of their eight Segunda Division games finishing scoreless.

Athletic Bilbao v Granada – Over 0.5 Goals

When it comes to their involvement in La Liga home games producing at least a single goal, Athletic Bilbao have been the epitome of consistency of late, with their current run stretching to 14 matches. This record pales in comparison to that of Granada, however, with the newly-promoted outfit having played 26 times in the league since they last featured in a 0-0 draw.

Elche v Racing Santander – Over 0.5 Goals

The last four Elche matches in the second tier have served up an impressive total of 18 goals, and it is worth noting that the net has bulged at least once in each of their last 18 games at this level. Racing Santander come into this contest having not drawn 0-0 in any of their previous eight fixtures, so it would come as a surprise were that sequence to end here.

Over / Under 0.5 Goals Tips For This Weekend - Friday 22nd November to Monday 25th November

Racing Santander v Extremadura – Over 0.5 Goals

When it comes to their involvement in second-tier matches containing at least a single goal, Extremadura are on somewhat of a roll, with their current tally standing at 12 consecutive games. Newly-promoted Racing Santander are on a streak of seven such fixtures themselves, so it would come as a bit of a surprise were neither side to make the breakthrough here.

Malaga v Elche – Over 0.5 Goals

Elche have played 29 second-tier away games since the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign, with not a single one of these fixtures finishing goalless, so we know what to expect from the visitors. Given that the deadlock has been broken at some point in 14 of the 16 matches involving Malaga at this level this season, then a 0-0 draw seems increasingly unlikely.

Albacete v Mirandes – Over 0.5 Goals

Mirandes have featured 16 times in the second tier since securing promotion, with at least one goal being netted in 15 of those fixtures, including in all seven that they have played on the road. Interestingly enough, the numbers are absolutely identical for Albacete on that front this term, with the deadlock remaining unbroken in just one of their 16 Segunda Division games.

Girona v Fuenlabrada – Over 0.5 Goals

Over the course of their 16 Segunda Division fixtures following promotion, high-flying Fuenlabrada have been involved in no fewer than 15 contests in which at least a single goal has been netted. This has also been the case in 15 of the 16 league games involving Girona during the current campaign, meaning that the sides are unlikely to cancel each other out.

How Does Over/Under 0.5 Goals Betting Work?

If you back under 0.5 goals, you’re betting that no goals will be scored. If you back over 0.5 goals, you’re betting that more than one will be scored over the game. There can be any number of goals, just as long as there’s one, your bet will win.

Therefore, the score at full time determines whether or not you’re successful. It’s also referred to as ‘a goal in the game’ by punters.

This is very similar to the other goal markets, including 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5.

Why Is It Popular?

The simplicity of this market is partly what makes it so popular with bettors. Compared with half time/full time bets, for example, it’s much more straightforward.

While you might not be able to find the odds offered by the correct score market, for example, this isn’t to say you can’t win some attractive returns. The key is that you don’t have to spend much in order for your bet to win. Particularly if placed as part of an acca bet, this market can be an extremely profitable one.

It can be found in a variety of leagues and matches, offered by most of the best betting sites out there.
