Halftime/fulltime

The Halftime/fulltime market is similar to the WDW market in the sense that you’re betting on the outcome of the match. The only difference is that you’re betting on what the outcome will be at half time as well as at full time, hence the HT/FT name.

This market is fun and flexible. You can obviously use it to back a heavy favourite you think will steamroller an opponent and beat them “wire to wire”. But you can also predict that a team may be level or even behind at HT, and then come back to win it by the end. As ever, to find a successful HT/FT tip you need the best information. You can find all of that here!

Halftime Fulltime Tips and Predictions

Our HT/FT tips are updated regularly for all major leagues and competitions, including the Premier League, the Champions League and the Europa League. Find all our latest predictions below.

Wednesday 26th January – Rangers v Livingston – Rangers/Rangers

Not only have Rangers enjoyed an incredible 17 victories in 20 top-flight home fixtures of late, but the defending champions have also found themselves leading at the break 14 times during this period. For their part, meanwhile, Livingston have trailed at the interval eight times in 20 league trips recently, ultimately returning with zero points on nine occasions.

Wednesday 26th January – RFC Seraing v Beerschot – RFC Seraing/RFC Seraing

Beerschot fans will be used to that sinking halftime feeling as they sip their drinks and watch the halftime entertainment. Their side have been behind at halftime in 15 of their 22 league games this season, and have gone on to lose 14 of those at the final whistle.

RFC Seraing have had their own problems this season, and find themselves just one spot above Beerschot. However, they have generally played much better against the weaker teams in the division this season – winning 4 of 8 against other teams in the bottom 8. 3 of those 4 wins were at HT and FT, while they led at halftime in another they went on to lose.

Saturday 29th January – Fulham v Blackpool – Fulham/Fulham

Fulham have been steamrollering through their Championship opposition of late, winning 4 consecutive matches at HT and FT. Blackpool have been behind at halftime in 9 of their 27 league games this season, and while they have only gone on to lose 3 of those they haven’t come up against many sides in as good form as Fulham are right now.

Saturday 29th January – Cheltenham v Wigan – Draw/Wigan

Cheltenham find themselves at the wrong end of the table in 17th place, just a few bad results above the relegation places. However, their fans will be hopeful because it is not as if their side have been out of games at halftime regularly this season. The Robins have only been behind at HT 7 times this season, despite losing 10 matches.

Wigan have been level at HT in 10 games this season, but have gone on to win an astonishing 9 of those in the second half. Clearly Leam Richardson’s halftime words are having an impact.

How does HT FT betting work?

As we’ve said, HT/FT betting is similar to the WDW market except that as well as betting on what the final result will be you’re also betting on who will be winning at halftime too.

That means that there are 9 possible bets:
. Home win/home win
. Home win/draw
. Home win/away win
. Draw/home win
. Draw/draw
. Draw/away win
. Away win/away win
. Away win/draw
. Away win/home win

Halftime Fulltime Odds

Odds vary depending on the bookmaker or betting site you choose, as well as the football match itself. As with WDW, some outcomes, e.g. draw/draw are simply much more unlikely than others almost regardless of teams, and so will have higher odds.

What makes a good halftime/fulltime bet?

Exactly when you should go for which bet (win/win etc) depends on the specific match. However, there are some good rules that apply to all successful football betting, and betting on HT/FT is no exception.

Do your research

This is especially important when selecting a half time/full time tip as there are many possible options for the final bet. One team might be dominant and win a lot of matches at HT and FT, but if the team they are playing is good at setting up defensively in the first half before tiring in the second half (lots of draws at HT, and losses at FT) then this might be a better bet.

We’ve got the best data around for this market, including our league table which shows you if teams perform differently against teams of different quality. For more info on how to use our league table to make better HT/FT tips, check out the help section.

Take Advantage Of Offers

While sometimes only available to first time bettors, many bookies provide deals such as free bet offers. This allows you to win at their expense, making as much as possible for less risk on your part.

You could also take advantage of deals such as enhanced odds offers, which give your potential returns a boost.

HT/FT Acca Tips

A great way to increase the profitability of your HT/FT tips is to put them together in an acca. One thing to bear in mind though is that the odds for this type of bet are relatively high, and so can quickly spiral to levels that make a bet unlikely to win in an acca. As a result halftime/fulltime tips are best suited to small accas of 3-4 selections at most.

Pro users can also look at the accas from our top tipsters, and copy them with a single click.
