Halftime/fulltime

The Halftime/fulltime market is similar to the WDW market in the sense that you’re betting on the outcome of the match. The only difference is that you’re betting on what the outcome will be at half time as well as at full time, hence the HT/FT name.

This market is fun and flexible. You can obviously use it to back a heavy favourite you think will steamroller an opponent and beat them “wire to wire”. But you can also predict that a team may be level or even behind at HT, and then come back to win it by the end. As ever, to find a successful HT/FT tip you need the best information. You can find all of that here!

Halftime Fulltime Tips and Predictions

Our HT/FT tips are updated regularly for all major leagues and competitions, including the Premier League, the Champions League and the Europa League. Find all our latest predictions below.

Sunday 3rd October – Bayern Munich v Eintracht Frankfurt – Bayern Munich/Bayern Munich

Over the course of their previous 20 home matches at the top table of German football, Bayern Munich have converted all 12 of their interval advantages into full-time victories. Even more impressively, perhaps, this has also been the case in nine consecutive Bundesliga meetings with Eintracht Frankfurt on their own patch, so history points at more of the same.

Saturday 2nd October – Chelsea v Southampton – Chelsea/Chelsea

Before playing host to Manchester City, Chelsea had enjoyed a half-time lead in ten of their last 20 Premier League home games, with the London outfit going on to turn eight of these advantages into three points. For their part, meanwhile, Southampton have lost eight of the nine top-flight away matches during the same period in which they have trailed at the break.

Saturday 2nd October – Borussia Dortmund v Augsburg – Borussia Dortmund/Borussia Dortmund

Prior to visiting Freiburg, Augsburg had lost six of the last seven top-flight away fixtures in which they had found themselves trailing at the break, which doesn’t bode well ahead of a trip to Borussia Dortmund. Speaking of the hosts, all eight of their half-time leads across their most recent 20 Bundesliga home matches have been converted into full-time victories.

Monday 27th September – Toulouse v Caen – Toulouse/Toulouse

Toulouse have enjoyed an interval advantage in no fewer than nine of their previous 20 second-tier home games, with the promotion-chasing outfit going on to claim maximum points from eight of these contests. As for Caen, they have trailed at the break ten times in 20 trips at this level of late, only managing to get something from two of these encounters.

How does HT FT betting work?

As we’ve said, HT/FT betting is similar to the WDW market except that as well as betting on what the final result will be you’re also betting on who will be winning at halftime too.

That means that there are 9 possible bets:
. Home win/home win
. Home win/draw
. Home win/away win
. Draw/home win
. Draw/draw
. Draw/away win
. Away win/away win
. Away win/draw
. Away win/home win

Halftime Fulltime Odds

Odds vary depending on the bookmaker or betting site you choose, as well as the football match itself. As with WDW, some outcomes, e.g. draw/draw are simply much more unlikely than others almost regardless of teams, and so will have higher odds.

What makes a good halftime/fulltime bet?

Exactly when you should go for which bet (win/win etc) depends on the specific match. However, there are some good rules that apply to all successful football betting, and betting on HT/FT is no exception.

Do your research

This is especially important when selecting a half time/full time tip as there are many possible options for the final bet. One team might be dominant and win a lot of matches at HT and FT, but if the team they are playing is good at setting up defensively in the first half before tiring in the second half (lots of draws at HT, and losses at FT) then this might be a better bet.

We’ve got the best data around for this market, including our league table which shows you if teams perform differently against teams of different quality. For more info on how to use our league table to make better HT/FT tips, check out the help section.

Take Advantage Of Offers

While sometimes only available to first time bettors, many bookies provide deals such as free bet offers. This allows you to win at their expense, making as much as possible for less risk on your part.

You could also take advantage of deals such as enhanced odds offers, which give your potential returns a boost.

HT/FT Acca Tips

A great way to increase the profitability of your HT/FT tips is to put them together in an acca. One thing to bear in mind though is that the odds for this type of bet are relatively high, and so can quickly spiral to levels that make a bet unlikely to win in an acca. As a result halftime/fulltime tips are best suited to small accas of 3-4 selections at most.

Pro users can also look at the accas from our top tipsters, and copy them with a single click.
