Team to Score First Tips and Predictions – Friday 27th to Monday 30th November

Espanyol v Real Zaragoza – Espanyol to score first

Since getting relegated down to the second tier, Espanyol have developed a welcome habit for opening the scoring on their own patch, doing so six times in seven attempts. Real Zaragoza, by way of contrast, have fallen 1-0 behind seven times in ten trips at this level of late, so all the signs point clearly in one direction ahead of this intriguing encounter.

Lamia v PAOK – PAOK to score first

Lamia have opened the scoring in just one of their previous 12 matches in the Greek Super League, not to mention the fact that they have fallen 1-0 behind in six of their last eight fixtures. Having netted first in 15 of their most recent 20 trips at this level, including once on this ground, PAOK are well placed to take advantage of the weakness of their opponent.

Valerenga v Sarpsborg – Valerenga to score first

Sarpsborg have a habit of shooting themselves in the foot when they take to the road in the Eliteserien, with the team that was once managed by Brian Deane conceding the first goal 12 times in 20 trips of late. Valerenga, by way of contrast, have opened the scoring in 13 of their previous 16 home matches at this level, and that should stand them in good stead here.

AIK v Kalmar – AIK to score first

Relegation-threatened Kalmar do not have a great record when it comes to conceding the first goal in top-flight away games, doing so 14 times in 19 trips of late, so they are well used to giving themselves a mountain to climb. AIK, meanwhile, have taken a 1-0 lead seven times in nine matches in the Allsvenskan recently, which has certainly made life easier for them.

Team to Score First Tips and Predictions – Friday 20th to Monday 23rd November

Cheltenham Town v Walsall – Cheltenham Town to score first

Over the course of their last nine League Two fixtures, Walsall have found themselves falling 1-0 behind on no fewer than six occasions, so the Saddlers certainly seem to be vulnerable in this department. Considering Cheltenham have opened the scoring in ten of their most recent 12 matches at this level, they will be extremely confident of doing so again in this encounter.

Exeter City v Oldham Athletic – Exeter City to score first

Including the playoffs, Exeter have proven very adept at opening the scoring in recent League Two home games, doing so nine times in 13 attempts, and they have gone on to win eight of the matches in which they have struck first. Oldham, by way of contrast, have fallen 1-0 behind in 12 of their most recent 17 fixtures at this level, which doesn’t bode well for them.

Southend United v Cambridge United – Cambridge United to score first

Irrespective of which division they have been operating in, Southend have had a real problem when it comes to conceding first, with the Shrimpers finding themselves 1-0 down in 15 of their previous 19 league games. It has been a very different story as far as Cambridge are concerned of late, as they have broken the deadlock nine times in 12 attempts at this level.

Chambly v Toulouse – Toulouse to score first

Chambly have developed a habit of making life difficult for themselves in recent weeks, conceding the opening goal in each of their previous four Ligue 2 fixtures, three of which they have gone on to lose. Toulouse, on the other hand, have taken a 1-0 lead in four second-tier fixtures on the bounce, so all the evidence points towards them seizing the initiative here.

Team to Score First Tips and Predictions – Friday 6th to Monday 9th November

Basel v Sion – Basel to score first

Basel are the owners of a tremendous recent record when it comes to going 1-0 up in top-flight home games, doing so in 15 of their previous 19 clashes, so achieving consistency has not proven too difficult on this particular front. What’s more, Sion have conceded the opening goal nine times in 14 trips at this level of late, including twice on this ground.

Zenit St. Petersburg v Krasnodar – Zenit St. Petersburg to score first

Zenit St. Petersburg are on a roll when it comes to opening the scoring in top-flight home fixtures, doing so seven times in a row, and they should be confident of extending that streak in this clash. That is because Krasnodar have fallen 1-0 behind in five away games on the spin at this level, as well as in seven of their previous eight top-flight matches overall.

Malmo v Sirius – Malmo to score first

Over the course of their last 19 top-flight home matches, Malmo have opened the scoring on no fewer than 15 occasions, turning these leads into 12 victories and three draws. Sirius, by way of contrast, have conceded the first goal in five of their last six trips at the top table of Swedish football, so all the signs are clearly pointing one way ahead of this encounter.

AC Milan v Hellas Verona – AC Milan to score first

AC Milan have grown accustomed to opening the scoring in recent Serie A matches, doing so 11 times on the spin, with the Italian giants going on to win nine and draw two of these encounters. Although Verona don’t have a terrible record when it comes to conceding the first goal on their top-flight travels, they have still done so four times in seven trips of late.

Team to Score First Tips and Predictions – Friday 30th October to Monday 2nd November

Pacos de Ferreira v Porto – Porto to score first

As you might expect, Porto are the owners of a formidable recent record when it comes to opening the scoring in away games in the Primeira Liga, with the defending champions doing so seven times in ten attempts. Pacos de Ferreira, by way of contrast, have found themselves 1-0 down in four of their previous six home matches, including in this fixture last term.

Haugesund v Aalesund – Haugesund to score first

A miserable season for Aalesund continues to get worse and worse, with their cause not being helped by conceding the first goal in 12 of their last 16 matches, and it is only a matter of time until they are relegated. Haugesund, meanwhile, have made a habit of opening the scoring on home soil recently, grabbing a 1-0 lead in five of their previous six encounters.

Tambov v Dynamo Moscow – Dynamo Moscow to score first

Dynamo Moscow have proven extremely adept at opening the scoring in Russian Premier League matches recently, doing so in ten of their previous 14 encounters. This spells bad news for Tambov, as they have fallen 1-0 behind in seven of their last eight home games, plus they failed to find the net in either of their meetings with these opponents in 2019/20.

Helsingborgs v Malmo – Malmo to score first

Runaway leaders Malmo have opened the scoring in five consecutive Allsvenskan matches, as well as in 13 of their last 19 games over the longer term. The boot has been firmly on the other foot as far as Helsingborgs are concerned, however, as they have conceded the first goal in 14 of their previous 20 top-flight fixtures, so all the signs point firmly in one direction.
