Top Football Tips and Predictions - Friday 17th, Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th May

Mainz v Hoffenheim – Over 2.5 Goals

Mainz may not have troubled the European places or battled against relegation this season, but the fact that ten of their previous 12 Bundesliga home games have served up over 2.5 goals suggests that they have been exciting to watch. For their part, 13 of Hoffenheim’s 16 away matches in the top-flight this term have also fallen into this high-scoring category.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v Borussia Dortmund – Over 2.5 Goals

Borussia Dortmund are very rarely involved in dull games in the Bundesliga, with ten of their previous 11 encounters serving up a minimum of three goals, and they have netted 23 times in a run of seven consecutive victories against these opponents. As for Borussia Mönchengladbach, 15 of their last 20 home games at this level have delivered over 2.5 goals.

Lyon v Caen – Home Win

Lyon know that three points in this encounter will secure Champions League football for next season, and this is something that Bruno Génésio’s charges have managed in five of their last seven top-flight home games. Relegation-threatened Caen have made massive forward progress recently, but the fact remains that they have lost four times in eight Ligue 1 trips.

Paris Saint-Germain v Dijon – Home Win

Thomas Tuchel’s charges may have gone off the boil somewhat recently, but the French champions still boast 50 points from a possible 54 at the Parc des Princes under the German’s leadership. Relegation-threatened Dijon, by way of contrast, have suffered nine defeats in their last ten top-flight trips, failing to find the net in any of those costly losses.

Top Football Tips and Predictions - Friday 10th, Saturday 11th, Sunday 12th May

Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester City – Away Win

Manchester City know that a victory will see them successfully defend their Premier League title, and Pep Guardiola’s side come into this contest on the back of a run of 13 consecutive top-flight wins. Brighton have been in dreadful form of late, winning none of their last eight games and picking up just three points along the way, so don’t expect any shocks in this one.

Manchester United v Cardiff City – Home Win

Although they exceeded the expectations of many people, a ninth defeat in 11 matches confirmed Cardiff’s relegation last weekend, and Neil Warnock’s men head to Old Trafford having lost six of eight games on the road recently. Manchester United have also failed to hit their targets, but seven wins from 11 Premier League home fixtures is decent enough form.

Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Home Win

Liverpool must win to stand any realistic chance of lifting the Premier League title, and that is something that the Merseyside outfit have done in 16 of their 18 top-flight home games this season. Wolves have enjoyed a memorable campaign, claiming seventh place and potential Europa League football, but Nuno’s men have actually lost three times in five trips recently.

Southampton v Huddersfield Town – Home Win

It has largely been their impressive home form since Ralph Hasenhüttl took charge that has kept Southampton in the division, with the Saints winning five of their 11 matches under the Austrian. Huddersfield, by way of contrast, have been absolutely dreadful on their travels of late, suffering seven consecutive defeats and collecting just one point from a possible 36.

Top Football Tips and Predictions - Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th April

Aston Villa v Norwich City – BTTS - Yes

Title-chasing Norwich are an incredibly exciting team to watch, and this is reflected by the fact that the Canaries have both scored and conceded in eight of their previous ten away matches. It has been a similar story as far as Aston Villa are concerned of late, with six of their last nine Championship matches producing goals at both ends of the pitch.

Huddersfield Town v Manchester United – Away Win

Huddersfield come into this contest on the back of a run of eight consecutive defeats, thus putting the recent dip in form experienced by Manchester United firmly into the shade. Although things have been pretty bleak for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team of late, the Red Devils have still enjoyed six wins in nine Premier League trips under the club legend.

Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion – Home Win

Arsenal may have been beaten by Crystal Palace in their previous Premier League home game, but Unai Emery’s charges had enjoyed ten consecutive top-flight victories at the Emirates Stadium prior to that loss. Having suffered 12 defeats in 18 trips at this level during the current campaign, Brighton have to be seen as ideal opponents for the Gunners.

Chelsea v Watford – Home Win

Somewhat worryingly for Watford with an FA Cup Final against Manchester City looming large on the horizon, they have suffered ten consecutive Premier League defeats against the current top-six, one of which came against Chelsea on Boxing Day. What’s more, Maurizio Sarri’s men have already collected maximum points 11 times at Stamford Bridge this season.

Top Football Tips and Predictions - Friday 26th, Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th April

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United – Home Win

West Ham’s recent away form would be best described as abject, with Manuel Pellegrini’s charges collecting just one point from a possible 24 and scoring a grand total of two goals along the way. Tottenham, by way of contrast, have made a great start to life in their new stadium, winning four out of four in all competitions without so much as conceding a goal.

Barnsley v Blackpool – Home Win

If Barnsley are to secure an immediate return to the Championship, then their form at Oakwell will have played a huge part in their success, with the Tykes yet to taste defeat in front of their own supporters in League One. Blackpool no longer have anything to play for, and the Seasiders head to Yorkshire having won just three times in 14 third-tier games of late.

Sheffield United v Ipswich Town – Home Win

Sheffield United are edging closer to promotion and a home game against bottom-of-the-table Ipswich seems ideal given that the Tractor Boys have been beaten 11 times in 16 second-tier trips recently. The Blades have been pretty phenomenal in front of their own supporters of late, securing nine wins in 11 Championship games, so this should be a stroll in the park.

Norwich City v Blackburn Rovers – Home Win

Avoiding defeat in this encounter will result in Norwich securing promotion to the Premier League, but 13 wins from their previous 19 Championship home games suggests that the Canaries have what it takes to claim all three points. Despite recent improvements, Blackburn are not great travellers, as evidenced by ten defeats in their last 16 away games at this level.
