Betting market help

Win/draw/win

A ninety-minute football match has only three potential outcomes – a home win, an away win or a draw. With win/draw/win you simply have to pick which you think it will be.

Double chance

With double chance you’re covering two of the three potential outcomes of a ninety-minute football match – a home win, an away win or a draw – at the same time. If either of them is correct, you’re a winner.

Correct score

Correctly predict the scoreline at the end of ninety minutes to win big on the correct score market. Some cup matches, including those in the Champions League, Europa League or the FA Cup, may go to extra time, but what happens in the regulation ninety is all that matters here.

Both teams to score

If you think each team in a match will score at least one goal, then select the ‘yes’ option in the both teams to score market. If you think at least one of the sides will fail to score, select the ‘no’ option.

Both teams to score & result

This market, once again, is all about whether a match will end as a home win, an away win or a draw. The twist, however, is that both sides must also score at least one goal for the bet to be a winner. If one or more team fails to score, it’s a losing bet whether the matches outcome was correctly predicted or not.

Half time/full time

In order to win in the half time/full time market, you must first correctly predict whether the home side or away side will be leading at half time, or whether they will be level. Then, you’re betting on the match’s outcome. If both halves of your bet are correct, you’re a winner.

Over/under 0.5 goals

Simply decide how many goals you think there will be in total during the regulation ninety minutes of a single match. If you think there will be none, pick ‘under 0.5 goals’. If you think there will be one or more, then ‘over 0.5 goals’ is the bet for you.

Over/under 1.5 goals

If you think there will be 1 goal or fewer during a match’s regulation ninety minutes, then select ‘under 1.5 goals’. If you think there will be 2 goals or more, then select ‘over 1.5 goals’.

Over/under 2.5 goals

If you think there will be 2 goals or fewer during a match’s regulation ninety minutes, then select ‘under 2.5 goals’. If you think there will be 3 goals or more, then select ‘over 2.5 goals’.

Over/under 3.5 goals

If you think there will be 3 goals or fewer during a match’s regulation ninety minutes, then select ‘under 3.5 goals’. If you think there will be 4 goals or more, then select ‘over 3.5 goals’.

Over/under 4.5 goals

If you think there will be 4 goals or fewer during a match’s regulation ninety minutes, then select ‘under 4.5 goals’. If you think there will be 5 goals or more, then select ‘over 4.5 goals’.

Over/under 5.5 goals

If you think there will be 5 goals or fewer during a match’s regulation ninety minutes, then select ‘under 5.5 goals’. If you think there will be 6 goals or more, then select ‘over 5.5 goals’.

Win to nil

Here you’re backing one side to win the match, whilst also preventing their opponents from scoring a goal. If they win but concede in the process, it’s a losing bet.

Draw no bet

Draw no bet removes the option and the risk of a draw – only allowing bettors to back either a home win or an away win. If their selection is correct then they’re a winner, and if the match ends level then the bet is void and the stake refunded.

First goal scorer

Simply select the player you believe will score the first goal of a match. If somebody else scores the opening goal or nobody scores at all then the bet loses.

Anytime goal scorer

Select a player from either side and if he scores at any point during the regulation ninety minutes then your bet is a winner.

Team to score first

Correctly predict the team you believe will score the first goal in a match to win. Alternatively, you can take the ‘none’ option, and if the match is goalless at the end of the regulation ninety minutes you win.

The Best Betting Tips and Predictions

Monday 25th January – Sochaux v Toulouse – Over/Under 0.5 Goals – Over 0.5 Goals

Over the course of their last 20 second-tier home games, Sochaux have featured in just a single goalless draw, and there is little reason to expect another against Toulouse. The relegated visitors have adjusted well to life in Ligue 2, currently finding themselves firmly in the hunt for promotion, and they have gone 14 matches since their most recent 0-0 draw.

Sunday 24th January – Bordeaux v Angers – Double Chance – Home Win or Away Win

Bordeaux have blown extremely hot and cold in recent Ligue 1 home games, winning four and losing three of their previous seven encounters, so it would be fair to say that consistency has eluded them. The picture has been a similar one when Angers have taken to the road at this level, as their last 17 trips have resulted in seven wins, seven losses and three draws.

Friday 22nd January – Paris Saint-Germain v Montpellier – Over/Under 2.5 Goals – Over 2.5 Goals

It is a clear sign of their recent dominance of French football that Paris Saint-Germain have netted three times or more in 13 of their last 20 home matches in Ligue 1, including once in a 5-0 success against Montpellier. Speaking of the visitors, 11 of their previous 18 away games at this level have also been of the over 2.5 goals variety, so something similar is expected.

Wednesday 20th January – Schalke v Koln – Correct Score – 1-1 Draw

Schalke have finished on level terms in five of their most recent 15 home matches in the Bundesliga, and it is noticeable that every single one of these draws has been of the 1-1 variety. Koln have secured three draws in six trips at this level themselves of late, and three of their last four such results, at Augsburg, Stuttgart and Werder Bremen, have ended 1-1.

Tuesday 19th January – West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion – Win/Draw/Win – Home Win

Ahead of their trip to Wolves, West Brom had been really struggling on their league travels, collecting just four points from a ten-match winless run, and getting knocked out of the FA Cup at third-tier Blackpool will not have done much to boost morale. West Ham, on the other hand, had won seven times in 15 Premier League games prior to taking on Burnley.

Saturday 16th January – Leeds United v Brighton & Hove Albion – Both Teams To Score & Result – BTTS – Yes & Home Win

Consistency may have eluded Leeds recently, with four wins and four losses from their last eight Premier League matches, but they have found the net in seven of these encounters, as well as conceding in five of them. Before visiting Manchester City, Brighton had picked up just 11 points from 15 top-flight fixtures, both scoring and conceding in 11 of these games.

Friday 15th January – Wurzburger Kickers v Eintracht Braunschweig – Both Teams To Score – BTTS – Yes

Ahead of playing host to Fortuna Dusseldorf, newly-promoted Eintracht Braunschweig had gone 12 matches without keeping a clean sheet in the second tier of German football. This is a failing that Wurzburger Kickers can certainly relate to, as, in advance of their meetings with St. Pauli and Osnabruck, they were yet to pitch a shutout in 13 attempts this season.

Wednesday 13th January – Manchester City v Brighton & Hove Albion – First Goal Scorer – Raheem Sterling

It could be argued that Raheem Sterling has not been looking at his sharpest this season, though the Manchester City forward can still point to a return of 13 goals in 23 Premier League appearances since football returned following the first lockdown. This tally includes a hat-trick in a 5-0 success at Brighton, plus all four of his strikes this term have been openers.

Tuesday 12th January – Burnley v Manchester United – Anytime Goal Scorer – Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford was on target in a 2-0 success for Manchester United in this fixture last season, and his form on the road this time around suggests that he can find the net at Turf Moor once again. A scorer of seven goals in 16 top-flight appearances during the current campaign, it is particularly noticeable that six of these strikes have come on the road.

The Best Betting Predictions – Monday 4th to Sunday 10th January

Fortuna Dusseldorf v Paderborn – Over/Under 3.5 Goals – Under 3.5 Goals

Over the course of their last 20 away matches in the league, Paderborn have been involved in no fewer than 16 encounters containing under 3.5 goals, including a 0-0 draw at Fortuna Dusseldorf when both sides were in the Bundesliga. As for Uwe Rösler’s charges, it is worth noting that 12 of their most recent 15 games have also delivered no more than three goals.

Saint-Etienne v Paris Saint-Germain – Over/Under 4.5 Goals – Under 4.5 Goals

Beginning with a 4-0 reversal at the hands of these opponents, Saint-Etienne have now been involved in 14 consecutive top-flight home games containing under 4.5 goals, so achieving consistency has not proven too difficult in this area. Somewhat more surprisingly, perhaps, 16 of the last 18 Ligue 1 fixtures involving PSG have also served up no more than four goals.

Atalanta v Parma – Over/Under 5.5 Goals – Under 5.5 Goals

In advance of playing host to Sassuolo, Atalanta had been involved in ten consecutive top-flight matches containing under 5.5 goals, as well as featuring in 18 home games out of 20 of this type. Given that 19 of the previous 20 Parma away fixtures at this level have also served up five goals or fewer, any deviation from this script would have to be seen as a surprise.

Heracles v Vitesse Arnhem – Draw No Bet – Vitesse Arnhem to win

Recent home games have not been kind to Heracles, with Waalwijk, AZ Alkmaar and Fortuna Sittard all leaving Erve Asito with maximum points over the course of their last four matches. What’s more, Vitesse Arnhem have triumphed ten times in their most recent 15 Eredivisie fixtures, beating both PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord during this impressive run.

The Best Betting Statistics – Monday 28th December to Sunday 3rd January

Granada v Valencia – Over/Under 1.5 Goals – Over 1.5 Goals

Over 1.5 goals has been the order of the day in ten of the last 11 Granada home games in La Liga, including in a 2-2 draw against these opponents back in July. Speaking of Valencia, 11 of their most recent 15 matches at the top table of Spanish football have also served up two goals or more, so any deviation from this script would come as a surprise in this contest.

Burnley v Sheffield United – Win To Nil – Burnley to win to nil

A recent draw at struggling Brighton extended Sheffield United’s run without a win on their Premier League travels to 13 matches, ten of which they have lost and seven of which they have failed to score in. Burnley, meanwhile, have picked up seven points from three games at Turf Moor of late, and they have pitched a shutout in five of their last seven home victories.

West Bromwich Albion v Leeds United – Team to Score First – Leeds United to score first

Conceding first on home soil has been a real issue for West Brom of late, with this happening five times in eight league games, the last four of which they have gone on to lose. Leeds have endured few such difficulties on the road, going 1-0 up in eight of their previous 13 matches, and the fact that Marcelo Bielsa’s side play on the front foot can only help their cause.

Internazionale v Crotone – Half Time/Full Time – Internazionale / Internazionale

Crotone have a real problem when they find themselves trailing at the break in away games in the league, with defeat being the order of the day on each of the last seven occasions in which this has been the case. As for Inter Milan, their previous 20 home matches in Serie A have seen them in front at the interval ten times, with six of these contests producing wins.

Best Bets – Tuesday 22nd to Sunday 27th December

Sheffield United v Everton – Double Chance – Away Win/Draw

Sheffield United were minutes from recording their first win of the season against Brighton. Equally though, they might have lost it in the dying seconds as Jahanbakhsh hit the bar with the chance to make it 2-1. United have only scored 7 goals and are now without a win in 17 consecutive matches, a run stretching back to last season. By contrast Everon are unbeaten in their last 3 away from home, winning 2 of those games.

Napoli v Torino – Over/Under 2.5 Goals – Over 2.5 Goals

Napoli might not be the free-flowing title challengers they once were under Maurizio Sarri. But under Gattuso they still know where the net is, scoring 26 goals in just 13 games so far this term. Torino’s 19th place is largely down to their defensive struggles, they’ve conceded 15 in their last 6. All of Torino’s last 5 away games have finished with at least 3 goals on the scoresheet.

Liverpool v West Brom – Win/Draw/Win – Home Win

Following their late win against Spurs on Tuesday, Liverpool’s home unbeaten streak in the Premier League now extends to 66 and they’ve won their last 8 outright. You’d expect them to beat a West Brom side who travel to Anfield in the knowledge they haven’t won away from home in 9 attempts, losing 6 of those games. Jurgen Klopp’s men have scored 55 goals in their last 20 games at Anfield, conceding just 17.

Ankaragucu v Besiktas – Over/Under 0.5 Goals – Over 0.5 Goals

Besiktas have scored in 10 consecutive league away games, and have conceded in 6 of them as well. They are on a streak of 20 matches in the Super Lig without a 0-0. They visit an Ankaragucu side without a 0-0 in 19 home league matches who have conceded 32 goals in their last 20 matches.
