This Week's Top Win / Draw / Win Season Stats - Wednesday 1st April
Real Madrid have yet to taste defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga this season, though they have been beaten three times on the road. Surprisingly, their losses have all come at sides currently in the bottom half of the table, namely Real Mallorca, Levante and Real Betis.
Villarreal have not been big on draws in 2019/20, managing just five in 27 top-flight fixtures. The other 22 games played by the 2006 Champions League semi-finalists have resulted in 11 wins and 11 losses, meaning that their record is identical to that of newly-promoted Granada.
Somewhat remarkably, Levante have not finished on level terms in any of their 14 top-flight away games this season, losing 11 of these fixtures. Paco López’s side have actually secured 72.73% of their points on home soil, beating both Barcelona and Real Madrid along the way.
Winning has proven extremely difficult for Celta Vigo in 2019/20, with the strugglers tasting success only five times in La Liga. On a positive note, however, they have shown an ability to raise their game against the better teams, enjoying four wins against current top-half sides.
This Week's Top Win / Draw / Win Season Stats - Wednesday 25th March
Liverpool have dropped just five points in the Premier League so far this season, with the Reds’ win percentage of 93.10% putting them well ahead of fellow table-toppers Paris Saint-Germain (81.48%), Juventus (76.92%), Bayern Munich (68.00%) and Barcelona (66.67%).
Aside from the Merseyside outfit, no team in the top-flight of English football has lost fewer games than Wolves this season, with Nuno’s charges beaten on just six occasions. The men from Molineux do finish level too frequently, however, matching Arsenal’s tally of 13 draws.
Crystal Palace are the ultimate mid-table side, winning ten, drawing nine and losing ten of their Premier League matches in 2019/20. Interestingly, 21 of the Eagles’ 29 encounters have been settled by no greater than a single-goal margin, including 13 of the most recent 15.
At the start of the campaign, West Ham had dreams of challenging for a place in Europe, but 16 defeats, which is twice as many as Leicester, have left them in real trouble. Of their seven victories, three have come against fellow-strugglers Watford, Norwich and Bournemouth.
Win / Draw / Win Tips and Predictions - Friday 13th to Monday 16th March
Doncaster Rovers v Wimbledon – Home Win
Relegation-threatened Wimbledon clearly do not travel well, with 12 of their 17 away games in the third tier so far this season ending in defeat. Doncaster, on the other hand, have been a force to be reckoned with on their own patch in League One of late, winning five of their previous seven matches to keep alive their hopes of securing promotion through the playoffs.
Aris v OFI Crete – Home Win
Over the course of their last 11 away matches at the top table of Greek football, Crete have been beaten on nine occasions, so it is clear that taking to the road doesn’t agree with them. Aris, meanwhile, have fared pretty well on their own patch of late, enjoying six wins in nine games, including a spectacular 4-2 success against defending champions PAOK Salonika.
Waasland-Beveren v Gent – Away Win
Waasland-Beveren sit bottom of the Belgian First Division A, and their plight comes as no great surprise when you consider that they come into this contest on the back of a run of seven consecutive defeats. Gent, on the other hand, have enjoyed five wins in eight away games at this level recently, and they will be looking to cement second place in the table.
Werder Bremen v Bayer Leverkusen – Away Win
Four-time champions Werder Bremen seem to be heading towards the second tier, with a run of six successive home defeats, the last five of which they have failed to score in, doing little to inspire confidence. Bayer Leverkusen are competing hard towards the opposite end of the table, and a run of seven wins from nine matches suggests that they should prove too strong.
Win / Draw / Win Tips and Predictions - Friday 6th to Monday 9th March
Crewe Alexandra v Stevenage – Home Win
Relegation is starting to look inevitable for Stevenage, with a run of seven straight defeats in which they have been outscored by a total of 16 goals to four starting to take its toll. Crewe, by way of contrast, have been in magnificent form in front of their own supporters of late, collecting 25 points from a possible 27 as they bid to secure promotion to League One.
Plymouth Argyle v Macclesfield Town – Home Win
Macclesfield have found the going extremely tough on their League Two travels of late, with the Silkmen collecting just four points from a run that now stretches to 11 matches without a victory. Promotion-chasing Plymouth, on the other hand, have endured no such difficulties on their own patch of late, with the team in green securing nine wins in their last 12 fixtures.
Vitória de Setúbal v Benfica – Away Win
To describe Benfica’s away form in the Primeira Liga as incredible would not begin to do it justice, with the Portuguese giants enjoying 19 wins in their last 20 trips. This does not bode well for a Vitória de Setúbal outfit that has been beaten three times in a row in front of their own fans, with the high-flying duo of Sporting Lisbon and Porto amongst their conquerors.
Win / Draw / Win Tips and Predictions - Friday 28th February to Monday 2nd March
AGF Aarhus v Hobro – Home Win
Hobro have now played 13 times since they last tasted success at the top table of Danish football, and they have suffered back-to-back defeats after returning from the winter break. The boot has been firmly on the other foot as far as high-flying Aarhus are concerned, however, with a run of 19 points from seven matches leaving them in confident mood.
Trabzonspor v Çaykur Rizespor – Home Win
A disappointing run of six defeats in eight trips suggests that Çaykur Rizespor are not the best of travellers, with a total of 17 goals being conceded across these losses. That must be music to the ears of a Trabzonspor outfit that has been cooking with some serious gas recently, as the title-chasers have netted 21 times on the way to securing 19 points from a possible 21.
Antwerp v Oostende – Home Win
Oostende have found the going extremely tough on their top-flight travels of late, with the strugglers suffering ten consecutive defeats as part of a run that has seen them secure just one point from a possible 36. Antwerp, by way of contrast, have won ten and drawn four of their previous 14 home games at the top table of Belgian football, so this looks to be a mismatch.
Galatasaray v Gençlerbirliği – Home Win
Galatasaray are one of four teams in with a genuine chance of landing the Turkish title, with their cause being significantly aided by a run of seven consecutive victories, including at fierce rivals Fenerbahce last time out. Gençlerbirliği, on the other hand, have suffered four defeats in five Süper Lig trips recently, losing three times in Istanbul along the way.
Win / Draw / Win Tips and Predictions - Friday 21st to Monday 24th February
Hamburg v St. Pauli – Home Win
St. Pauli would love nothing better than to dent the promotion bid of their city rivals, but a 15-game winless run on their second-tier travels, including five defeats on the bounce, suggests that such a result is likely to prove beyond them. As for Hamburg, they have enjoyed eight wins in their last nine matches in front of their own supporters at this level.
Werder Bremen v Borussia Dortmund – Away Win
Few people expected Werder Bremen to be battling against relegation, but that is the reality facing a team that has suffered ten defeats in 12 games recently, not to mention the fact that they have triumphed only once at home all season. For their part, title-chasing Borussia Dortmund have recorded seven victories in their most recent ten Bundesliga matches.
Wycombe Wanderers v Tranmere Rovers – Home Win
Over the course of their most recent ten matches at this level, Tranmere have secured three draws and suffered seven defeats, so life has been proving tough for the newly-promoted outfit. Wycombe may not have been hitting the heights that they did earlier in the season during the last few months, but 12 wins from 17 home games is still a formidable record.
Legia Warsaw v Jagiellonia Białystok – Home Win
Legia Warsaw may have been denied a fourth successive Ekstraklasa title by Piast Gliwice last term, but a run of six home wins on the bounce suggests that they may well be the team to beat again this time around. Jagiellonia Białystok can only dream of such impressive form on the road, with their previous five games resulting in no points and 14 goals conceded.
