Win / Draw / Win Tips and Predictions
Sunday 14th March – Cagliari v Juventus – Away Win
Before playing host to Bologna, Cagliari had been on a dreadful run of form on their own patch, drawing three and losing six of their previous nine top-flight fixtures, so a visit from Juventus is hardly ideal. Speaking of the defending champions, although they have not been the force of old recently, they have still triumphed four times in seven Serie A trips.
Saturday 13th March – Wolfsburg v Schalke – Home Win
You have to go back to a 2-1 success at Werder Bremen in November 2019 to find the last time that Schalke triumphed on their Bundesliga travels, and they have made 22 trips since then. The contrast with Wolfsburg’s home form could not be much starker, as the high-flying hosts have won seven and drawn four of their last 11 games at this elite domestic level.
Thursday 11th March – Tottenham Hotspur v Dinamo Zagreb – Home Win
Prior to entertaining Crystal Palace in the Premier League, Tottenham had been enjoying some spectacular results on home soil, winning 12 of their last 17 matches in all competitions. As for Dinamo Zagreb, their recent results on the road in Europe have been pretty mixed, with three wins, four draws and three losses from their previous ten games.
Wednesday 10th March – Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao – Home Win
In advance of their big derby against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid had secured maximum points from 15 of their previous 20 home games in La Liga, beating the likes of Barcelona and Sevilla along the way. Athletic Bilbao, by way of contrast, have been beaten seven times in 13 trips at this level recently, so they will have their work cut out for them in this clash.
Sunday 7th March – Arminia Bielefeld v Union Berlin – Away Win
The recent home record of Arminia Bielefeld does not make for pretty reading, with seven defeats in ten top-flight fixtures and a whopping 18 goals conceded across these losses. Union Berlin, on the other hand, have been punching above their weight this season, and a recent record of four wins from nine trips is not-too-shabby in such a competitive league.
Saturday 6th March – Eintracht Frankfurt v VfB Stuttgart – Home Win
Eintracht Frankfurt have arguably been the Bundesliga’s surprise package this season, with their bid to secure Champions League qualification being boosted by a run of five consecutive home wins, the last of which came against Bayern Munich. For their part, newly-promoted Stuttgart have been beaten four times in six trips at this elite level recently.
Wednesday 3rd March – Bordeaux v Paris Saint-Germain – Away Win
Despite winning six of their previous eight matches, Paris Saint-Germain have relinquished their position at the top of the Ligue 1 standings ahead of a trip to Dijon, so Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be fired up to win this game. As for Bordeaux, prior to entertaining Metz, they had picked up just one point from a possible 15, so the signs are worrying.
Monday 1st March – Real Madrid v Real Sociedad – Home Win
Despite not being at their best, Real Madrid have worked their way back into the La Liga title race, securing 11 wins from 14 matches, including four in a row of late. Real Sociedad, meanwhile, have not fared particularly well on the road recently, losing at Barcelona, Levante and Sevilla as part of a run that has seen them collect eight points from seven games.
Sunday 28th February – Sheffield United v Liverpool – Away Win
Although the wheels have fallen off Liverpool’s title defence in recent weeks, the Reds’ away form has been far from terrible, with three victories in their last six trips in the Premier League. Having been beaten in ten of their previous 13 top-flight home fixtures, however, there can be no disguising just how poor Sheffield United have been at Bramall Lane.
Saturday 27th February – Sochi v Arsenal Tula – Home Win
It would be fair to say that Arsenal Tula have been struggling on their top-flight travels of late, picking up just two points from the last 33 available and not scoring more than a single goal in any of these games. Sochi, by way of contrast, are unbeaten in 16 matches on their own patch at the top table of Russian football, winning on no fewer than 11 occasions.
Monday 22nd February – Lyngby v Kobenhavn – Away Win
Kobenhavn have been cooking with some serious gas recently, collecting 19 points from a possible 21 and outscoring their opponents by 15 goals to six along the way. Lyngby can only dream of such impressive numbers, with their winless run on home soil now stretching to 13 matches; the first of which was a 4-1 reversal at the hands of the club from the capital.
Sunday 21st February – Arsenal v Manchester City – Away Win
Arsenal are the owners of an abysmal recent record against Manchester City in the Premier League, being outscored by 18 goals to two on the way to losing seven games on the spin. What’s more, ahead of their trip to Everton, Pep Guardiola’s charges had put together a run of five consecutive away victories in the top-flight, winning at both Chelsea and Liverpool.
